Boxing champ Manny Pacquiao takes a jab at acting in director Topel Lee’s superhero-actioner Wapakman. The Solar Films release will have its premier this December at the Metro Manila Film Festival.

Wapakman stars Pacquiao as an ordinary citizen turned superhero in the face of extraordinary evil. The dark forces he battles come in many shapes and sizes, including men made of magma, busty babes with supersonic bras, and giant crustaceans (much bigger than what you get at Red Lobster).

Pacquiao also goes toe-to-toe with WWE star Dave Batista in the film. Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger was once rumored to be attached to the project, but that role has now gone to sexy Filipino actress Ruffae Mai Quinto.

Wapakman is Filipino for Forbidden Love

Wapakman is Pacquiao’s second go at movie stardom. His debut, Anak ng Kumander, for director Jose Balagtas was a miserable failure … most likely due to its lack of monster crabs.
