You don’t need a Ouija board to welcome the paranormal into your home this month. Paramount Home Entertainment is providing fans of its indie-horror hit Paranormal Activity the opportunity to host a red carpet screening of the film’s home edition at their residence on Dec. 28. To sweeten the deal further, the studio is also throwing in a brand new home theater system.
Interested fans can sign up for their chance to win the screening and entertainment center by visiting the Paranormal Activitywebsite. The DVD and Blu-ray disc editions of the movie will be in stores on Dec. 29.
Produced and directed by Oren Peli for an estimated $15,000, Paranormal Activity has now scared up over $140 million worldwide. Peli is currently at work on his followup Area 51, which will once again be distributed through Paramount Pictures.

It’s hard to know what possessed Sigourney Weaver to reveal secrets about the yet-to-be-announced Ghostbusters 3 project, but we give thanks to Zuul. During an interview with the UK’s Channel 4 News, Weaver announced that Ghostbusters 3 will be made and that Bill Murray will return as a ghost.
I’m afraid to say it is happening, I hope people are excited about that. I don’t know if I’m going to be in it, I have had a couple of calls asking ‘would you read the script.’ I know that my little son Oscar – who was kidnapped from me – I think he has grown up to be a ghostbuster. I might be in it; I see nothing wrong with being in it, although I don’t think I will have a big part. I think Bill Murray has a little more to do with it – he’s a ghost.
The original Ghostbusters was released in 1984 and grossed over $290 million worldwide. Ghostbusters 2 grossed over $215 million worldwide in 1989. Both films were directed by Ivan Reitman and starred Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis, and Weaver.
