MGM and Sony Screen Gems recently pissed off horror purists by announcing their plans to remake Brian De Palma’s 1976 movie adaptation of Stephen King’s classic novel Carrie. Entertainment Weekly asked King  for his thoughts on the matter and scored a surprise bit of possible casting info.

King says:

I’ve heard rumblings about a Carrie remake, as I have about The Stand and It. Who knows if it will happen? The real question is why, when the original was so good? I mean, not Casablanca, or anything, but a really good horror-suspense film, much better than the book. Piper Laurie really got her teeth into the bad-mom thing. Although Lindsay Lohan as Carrie White… hmmm. It would certainly be fun to cast.

With all her legal troubles and tabloid exploits, it’s easy to forget that Lohan was at one point a promising talent with impressive boobs acting chops. I, for one, loved her boobs in Machete, I Know Who Killed Me, and Mean Girls.

Playwright and comic book scribe Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (“Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark”) has been hired to pen the remake, which is said to be a closer adaptation of King’s novel.
