Kristen-Bauer-van-Straten-Once-Upon-Time

Looks like the producers of ABC’s upcoming fairytale drama “Once Upon a Time” may have finally gotten wind of the notorious Paula Marshall curse. The unlucky star of failed TV shows “Gary Unmarried,” “Hidden Hills,” “Snoops,” “Cupid,” and “Wild Oats” has been replaced by “True Blood’s” Kristen Bauer van Straten in the role of wicked fairy godmother Malificent.

Created by “LOST” executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, “Once Upon a Time” follows Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison), daughter of Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas), as she’s beckoned to the small New England town of Storybrooke to help free it from an Evil Queen’s (Lana Parilla) curse.

Malificent will be introduced during episode two of the series, set to air on Oct. 30. The character is expected to be a recurring role for van Straten, who is best known for her portrayal of sardonic bloodsucker Pam on the HBO vampire soap “True Blood.”

“Once Upon a Time” premieres on ABC on Oct. 23.

Sierra-Holmes-Scream-Queen

Aspiring actress Sierra Holmes was my favorite contestant on season two of VH1’s “Scream Queens,” reality-competition series. She wasn’t very good, but her determination and endearing goofiness had me rooting for her every week.

Well, now comes news that Holmes has landed a role in Dimension Films’ Piranha 3-DD, the John Gulager-directed sequel to Alexandre Aja’s well-reviewed-but-dead-in-the-water Piranha 3-D. No word on what part she plays, but she’s always had the … ahem … natural talents needed to star in such a film.

Holmes also stars in Redhawk Studios and Sick Flick Productions’ upcoming horror anthology Scream Queen Campfire. The bubbly 24-year-old appears in a vignette entitled “Marshmallows & Blood.” Judging from the teaser below, she’s been honing her craft.

Peep it:
