MGM has kicked off a viral marketing campaign to get peeps excited about its upcoming remake of Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 sci-fi classic Robocop, about a veteran police officer brutally gang-murdered by street thugs and brought back to life by the OmniCorp corporation as a cyborg crime fighter.
OmniCorp.com provides visitors with an early glimpse at some of the other high-tech security machines the company has designed to keep people safe from criminals and terrorists, including the XT-908 Aerial Vehicle, the not-so-reliable ED-209 and, of course, the RC-2000 (Robocop, beyotches!).
The Robocop remake is directed by Jose Padilha and stars Joel Kinnaman as Robocop Alex Murphy, Abbie Cornish as his wife, Gary Oldman as his creator, Sam Jackson as a media mogul and Hugh Laurie as OmniCorp’s CEO. The film is slated for release Aug. 9, 2013.
Model and Cosplay enthusiast Adrianne Curry posted on her Twitter account photos of the sexy Aeon Flux outfit that got her booted from last year’s Comic-Con convention in San Diego. Apparently, baring hot-girl butt cheeks is illegal, but flashing hairy beer bellies from underneath a tight “Doctor Who” shirt is totally OK.
Personally, I think Curry’s costume is what Charlize Theron should have worn in 2005’s Aeon Flux movie. That would have better explained the character’s origins… to my penis.
Curry first came to fame as the season one winner of the reality-competition show “America’s Next Top Model.” She later starred in the VH1 reality series “The Surreal Life” and “My Fair Brady,” which followed her then-marriage to “Brady Bunch” star Christopher Knight.
Sucker Punch starlet Jamie Chung has been cast in the recurring role of Chinese warrior Mulan on season two of ABC’s hit fairy tale series “Once Upon a Time.” The character is described as emotionally guarded, but loyal, and skilled in weaponry, tracking and riding.
Chung is best known to genre fans for her sexy turn as doomed dancer Amber in Zack Snyder’s fantasy-actioner Sucker Punch. She’s also starred in the 2009 remake Sorority Row, Dragonball Evolution (based on the Japanese Dragon Ball magna), and the indie-anthology Burning Palms.
The 29-year-old stunner will next be seen as a rookie flight attendant in Takashi Shimizu’s (The Grudge) airline frightener 7500 and as an abducted Korean-American girl sold into prostitution in Megan Griffiths’ (The Off Hours) human trafficking drama Eden.
“Once Upon a Time” followed Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison), daughter of Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas), as she rid the small New England town of Storybrooke from an Evil Queen’s (Lana Parilla) curse. The show returns this Fall.
