‘L Word’s’ Kate French Keeps You Up in ‘Echoes’

“L Word” stunner Kate French stars in Anchor Bay Entertainment’s Echoes, arriving on Blu-ray and DVD April 14. French plays a woman tormented by sleep paralysis and a mysterious and menacing figure that comes to her during the episodes.

French is best known for playing feisty party girl Niki Stevens in Showtime’s lesbian soap “The L Word,” but horror fans may have spotted her in the 2009 mad doctor slasher Sutures and last years house-in-the-woods frightener The Red House.

‘The Flash’s’ Danielle Panabaker Experiences a ‘Time Lapse’

XLrator Media has set a May 15 VOD and limited theatrical release date for Time Lapse, a long-gestating time travel thriller starring “The Flash’s” Danielle Panabaker. Marking the feature directorial debut of a dude named Bradley King, the film centers on three friends facing grave danger after discovering a time machine.

Panabaker made her horror debut playing Kevin Costner’s daughter in the 2007 serial-killer drama Mr. Brooks. She has since starred in a string of notable frighteners: Friday the 13th, The Crazies, Piranha DD, The Ward, Girls Against Boys. She can currently be seen on The CW’s “The Flash” as villain Caitlin Snow.

Vivica A. Fox Is Free for ‘Independence Day 2’

Vivica A. Fox is set to reprise her role as stripper and single mom Jasmine Dubrow in Roland Emmerich’s Independence Day 2, co-starring Liam Hemsworth (Hunger Games), Jessie Usher (InAPPropriate Comedy), Charlotte Gainsbourg (Antichrist), and Jeff Goldblum, reprising his role as geek hero David Levinson.

While it’s doubtful Fox’s character is still stripping, she is still one hot mama to her now grown son (Usher). Baby-Daddy Will Smith won’t be back however, having turned down the sequel. Twentieth Century Fox will release the film June 24, 2016.

Fox is coming off another high-profile sequel… Syfy’s Sharknado 2: The Second One. Her notable creds include Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill 1 & 2, Idle Hands with Jessica Alba, Kevin Williamson’s Teaching Mrs. Tingle, and of course Booty Call.

Independence Day was released in 1996 and earned more than $800 million worldwide.

‘Insidious 3’ Is Some Spooky Shit!

Focus Features has released a new trailer for Insidious: Chapter 3, the directorial debut of Insidious and SAW co-creator Leigh Whannell. Set to release May 29, the film serves as a prequel to the hit franchise, providing an origins story for its psychic heroine Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye).

Synopsis reads:

This chilling prequel, set before the haunting of the Lambert family, reveals how gifted psychic Elise Rainier reluctantly agrees to use her ability to contact the dead in order to help a teenage girl (Stefanie Scott) who has been targeted by a dangerous supernatural entity.

Scream queen Briana Evigan and genre king Danny Trejo are joining season two of Robert Rodriguez’s “From Dusk Till Dawn,” a small-screen adaptation of Rodriguez’s 1996 Aztec vampire thriller. The new season premieres this summer with Rodriguez behind the camera.

Evigan will play American expatriate Sonja, a tattoo artist and forgery expert working in the Mexican underground. Trejo, who played bartender and stage emcee Razor Charlie in the original film, has been recast in the series as demonic entity, The Regulator.

“From Dusk Till Dawn” is currently in production. Evigan and Trejo join series originals D.J. Cotrona (Seth Gecko) and Zane Holtz (Richie Gecko), Wilmer Valderrama (Carlos Madrigal), and stunner Eiza González (Santánico Pandemonium).

Felicity Jones First Cast in ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ She Is!

Disney announced this week the title for its first standalone Star Wars feature: Star Wars: Rogue One. Godzilla director Gareth Edwards helms the film from a script by Chris Weitz (Cinderella). Academy Award nominee Felicity Jones (Theory of Everything) is the first cast for the project.

Cameras will roll on Star Wars: Rogue One this summer and is slated for release Dec. 16, 2016, a year away from the Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Dec. 18 release. Star Wars: Episode VIII releases May 26, 2017 and will be directed by Rian Johnson (Looper).

Jones is coming off the Stephen Hawking biopic The Theory of Everything, for which she is nominated for an Oscar, and Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. She will next star opposite Tom Hanks in Ron Howard’s new Da Vinci Code sequel Inferno.

Alexandra Daddario & Carla Gugino Rock in New ‘San Andreas’ Trailer!

A new trailer has gone online for New Line’s San Andreas, an epic earthquake flick set in the wake of California’s “Big One.” Dwayne Johnson plays a special-ops firefighter on a trek from L.A. to San Francisco with his hot estranged wife (Carla Gugino) to find his hot and busty daughter (Alexandra Daddario).

The new trailer shows off plenty of destruction and, more importantly, gives us a look at a very sexy and dreamy Carla Gugino waking up to buildings falling on her head and Alexandra Daddario wide-eyed and in a tight tank top. Please, God, let them survive!

San Andreas is directed by Brad Peyton (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island) from a script by Carey Hayes and Chad Hayes (The Conjuring), polished by Carlton Cuse (“LOST”). It arrives in theaters May 29.

Lucy Lawless Has Her Ticket to ‘Ash Vs. Evil Dead’

“Spartacus” star Lucy Lawless returns to Starz for its new “Ash Vs. Evil Dead” television series from producers Sam Raimi, husband Rob Tapert, and Bruce Campbell, reprising his role as boomstick bad boy Ashley J. Williams.

“Ash Vs. Evil Dead” picks up 30-years after Ash’s last battle with the Deadites and finds the reluctant hero forced out of hiding to stop a new uprising. Lawless plays a mysterious woman out to nix the source of the evil, who she happens to think is Ash.

“Ash vs. Evil Dead” will feature 10 30-minute episodes and is slated to premiere later this year. Raimi will co-write and direct the pilot episode.

Lawless is coming off the Starz original series “Spartacus” in which she played Lucretia, the ambitious and conniving wife of Spartacus owner Quintus Batiatus. She plays German witch Countess Marburg on season two of WGN’s “Salem” and is, of course, best known as “Xena: Warrior Princess.”

Bailey-Noble-Martyrs

Production has wrapped on Blumhouse and The Safran Company’s American remake of the controversial French film Martyrs. Directed by the Goetz Brothers, the film is toplined by “True Blood” alumna Bailey Noble (pictured) and “Pretty Little Liar” Troian Bellisario.

Released in 2008 to critical acclaim, Martyrs centers on Anna, a severely traumatized child abuse survivor abducted by a secret society convinced they can reach God by beating the living shit out of her for about an hour of the film’s duration.

Noble, best known for playing Sheriff Andy Bellefleur’s half-human/half-faeire daughter Adilyn on HBO’s “True Blood,” plays the human punching bag named Anna. Mark L. Smith, the screenwriter behind Nimrod Antal’s underrated survival-frightener Vacancy, penned the script.

Lake Bell’s Beautiful American Boobs Face ‘No Escape’ in a Foreign Land!

The Weinstein Company has released a trailer for BOLD Films’ No Escape, a political action thriller starring Owen Wilson as an American businessmen trying to keep his family and, more importantly, Lake Bell’s big beautiful breasts, safe from rioting rebels during an upheaval in Southeast Asia.

No Escape is helmed by Devil and Quarantine director John Erick Dowdle and co-written by Dowdle and his brother Drew (As Above, So Below). Pierce Brosnan co-stars in the film as a government agent eager to help save Bell’s breasts too. No Escape hits theaters on Sept. 2.
