Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has set an April 12 release date for Grasshopper Manufacturer’s Lollipop Chainsaw, a third-person zombie adventure written by horror filmmaker James Gunn (Slither) about an 18-year-old panty-flashing cheerleader out to slay the undead.

It’s pretty sexy stuff, but cheerleader Juliet Starling has got nothing on Mrs. Pac-Man. Sure, the ’80s queen was short, round and married … but she liked to eat balls. Stick that in your X-Box 360 (or PS3), Starling!

Naughty Dog’s eagerly anticipated adventure game “Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception” will hit the streets on Nov. 1. To promote the release in Japan, Sony tapped Harrison Ford to play a demo of the game and filmed his reactions and thoughts.

Ford, whom game developers have cited as an inspiration for protagonist Nathan Drake, had never played any of the “Uncharted” games before and was quite impressed with it’s action and humor. The beloved 69-year-old actor also compared “Drake’s Deception” to working in movies.

He says:

I think it’s remarkable. The storytelling is very visual and exciting and the action just keeps on coming. I think it’s very realistic and very dramatic. I love the reality of the character’s reactions to the situations he’s in. It’s very exciting.

There’s so much more action here than there is normally in a movie. It’s so much more concentrated. Of course, there are a lot more, when you’re an actor playing in a role, there are a lot of other obligations that you have, but it’s very much like being in the movie for me. Except, the movie I always win. In the game, sometimes I don’t win.

My wife and I love Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars, and just about every Ford film out there. But, if we see him playing “Uncharted 3″ on multiplayer, we won’t hesitate to go all Regarding Henry on his ass and put a cap in his head.

This year’s Tokyo Game Show expo is just a couple of weeks away, but gamers are already getting a look at a trailer for Capcom’s Resident Evil: Revelations. Created for the Nintendo 3DS, the game is set between the events of Resident Evil 4 and 5 and introduces a controversial new top-heavy heroine named Rachel.

Maybe it’s my bleeding feminist heart, but—unlike the Rachel haters—I believe large breasted women don’t have to limit themselves to porn and pole work. I believe they can kill zombies. I believe they can fly. I believe they can soar and touch the sky. We really need to be more tolerant of big boobies.

Anyway … in the wake of the revamped Tomb Raider game, featuring a new flat-chested Lara Croft, it’s nice to see Capcom keeping things old school. What do you guys think?

Disney’s film adaptation of Ubisoft’s hit video game Prince of Persia: Sands of Time arrives in theaters on May 28, 2010. The fantasy-actioner is directed by Mike Newell (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) and scripted by Jordan Mechner, creator of the Prince of Persia game. Jerry Bruckheimer (Transformers) produces.

In space, no one can hear you scream. In your living room, it will be an entirely different story when Electronic Arts finally releases Visceral Games’ sequel to their chart-topping horror-survival game Dead Space. E.A. has issued a press release announcing that production on Dead Space 2 has officially begun and will feature new weapons, Necromorph monsters, and plot twists.

Dead Space 2 executive producer Steve Papoutsis says:

We’re thrilled to jump back into the series, making the next chapterin Isaac’s journey. The infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it. There are still loads of Necromorphs that need killing. In Dead Space 2, not everything is exactly as it seems. Expect plot twists that will surprise you and a huge cast of twisted, disgusting monsters that are sure to scare the daylights out of you.

Nick Earl, senior VP and group general manager for E.A., adds:

Like so many gamers worldwide, we love the Dead Space franchise and are very excited to announce a new game in the series. Visceral Games is quickly becoming known for delivering high-quality, action-packed games. Dead Space 2 is on target to deliver a jaw-dropping experience gamers won’t soon forget.

Konami Digital Entertainment has announced a Dec. 8 street date for the debut of its Silent Hill franchise on the Nintendo Wii system. The company describes Silent Hill: Shattered Memories as  a re-imaging of the first Silent Hill game.

The synopsis reads:

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories begins just like the original as Harry Mason is searching for his daughter through the snowy streets of the haunted Silent Hill where he will encounter a cast of unique characters. However, this time, players are equipped with only a flashlight and cell phone to get story information, solve puzzles and navigate the darkness while escaping the demons that lurk among them.  In addition, a psych-profiling feature has been added to analyze players and adjust itself to their actions, making this the most customizable and terrifying survival horror title to date.

PSP and Playstation 2 versions of the game will follow soon after.

The Silent Hill games are arguably the best in the horror-survival genre. I recommend locking your doors before initiating game-play. You don’t want anyone walking in on you as your arms are flailing with the Wiimote and you’re calling out for mommy.

Namco Bandai Games is laying out the welcome mat for fans of the man vs. demon combat classic Splatterhouse. The company is drumming up interest with a series of screen-shots from its Splatterhouse reboot. Gotta say, it looks pretty damn mean.

Originally launched in 1989, Splatterhouse is getting a much needed face-lift (more detailed violence and better bone-crushing moves) and will be out and swinging come Sept. 2010. In the meantime, enjoy the following gallery:

Left 4 Dead 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the award-winning, multi-player shooter from Valve Corporation, burst onto store shelves this morning. Technically superior to the first and loaded with much more hair-pulling intensity, Left 4 Dead 2 unleashes new, faster (Chargers) and frighteningly agile (Jockeys) zombies on unsuspecting gamers. Fortunately, there are plenty of new weapons to be used, including a frying pan (proving that the secrets to life can all be found in episodes of Looney Tunes).

Online gamers eager to get at each other’s throats should immediately jump into “Scavenge” mode, where they can play as either survivors in search of fuel or as “the infected” out for blood.
