Black Rock director and star Katie Aselton spoke with EW about the lengthy nude cat-and-mouse scenes she shares with costars Lake Bell (pictured above) and Kate Bosworth (below). The film, which was acquired at Sundance this year by LD Distribution, finds the alluring trio warming up to a group of male poachers while vacationing on a deserted island off the coast of Maine.

Trouble starts when Aselton’s character Abby flirts it up with one of the guys, but then gets all Jodi Foster/Accused on his horny ass. Shit hits the fan, and the girls are off and running with the men in pursuit. Hindered by their bodacious femininity, they fall in a lake and must quickly shed their wet clothes to avoid hypothermia.

Aselton explains:

That’s where the girls start to turn primal. That is a true animal instinct. It’s 43 degrees, you have to take those wet clothes off if you’re going to survive, and they’re vulnerable, but they’re finding their strength. That’s truly when their inner strength is taking over, and that’s exciting.

It’s me playing by the rules of the genre, and abiding by those rules on my own terms. It’s like, okay I’ll do nudity, but it’s not going to be in a super sexual way.

Black Rock will mark Aselton’s nude onscreen debut and will serve as Bell’s second (she went topless on HBO’s “How to Make It in America”). The film also provides an opportunity for Bosworth to redeem herself after starring in Rob Lurie’s neutered  remake of  Sam Peckinpah’s Straw Dogs.

Black Rock is written by Mark Duplass (Cyrus), Aselton’s husband and costar on the hilarious FX fanatsy-football series “The League.” Jay Paulson (“Happy Town”), Will Bouvier, and Anslem Richardson (”As the World Turns”) play the angry, blue-balled hunters.

Jacob Burris, campaign manager for Arkansas Democratic congressional candidate Ken Aden, was the victim of political terrorism this week when he discovered his family’s cat slain and desecrated with the word “liberal” painted on its carcass.

Authorities don’t have any leads in the case, but “Vampire Diaries” heartthrob Ian Somerhalder has vowed to have the culprits caught and brought to justice (that thud you just heard was the sound of millions of panties hitting the ground).

Somerhalder tweets:

While I object to animal cruelty and applaud Somerhalder’s efforts to find the cat murderers, I do hope this serves as a wake up call to all pets harboring a political agenda: Keep your pro-choice and health care reform ideas to yourself!

Star Wars creator George Lucas recently got his Jedi robes in a bunch while talking to the New York Times about the possibility of producing more Star Wars films. Wounded by the negative criticism from both press and fans over the disappointing prequels and his ongoing tinkering with the original trilogy, Lucas huffed-and-puffed like a Sith lord on a respirator.

He tells the NY Times:

Why would I make any more when everybody yells at you all the time and says what a terrible person you are?

On the Internet, all those same guys that are complaining I made a change are completely changing the movie. I’m saying: ‘Fine. But my movie, with my name on it, that says I did it, needs to be the way I want it.’

Lucas, I can feel your anger. It makes you stronger. Join me and together we will re-release all six Star Wars films in 3-D conversion, with blantant disregard to Han Solo-shot-first purists and even more CGI changes ::cough::cough:: … sorry, I always cough when impersonating the Emperor’s voice.

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace 3-D opens Feb. 10.

Screenwriter Trent Haaga has posted online the completed script for Deadgirl 2, a sequel to his and directors Marcel Sarmiento and Gadi Harel’s controversial indie-frightener about a group of misfit teen boys who discover a beautiful naked female zombie chained in an abandoned insane asylum.

What follows is a morality play that splits childhood buddies Rickie and J.T., the latter of which believes he’s just won the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes of free poon. Plans for a Deadgirl sequel were talked about last year, but, sadly, it appears the project has been abandoned.

Haaga writes on his blog:

I always saw the original DEADGIRL as a condemnation of misogyny as opposed to being misogynous – the boys were the monsters, not the “monster” of the title. But a lot of people didn’t see it that way.

My idea for the sequel was to try and tell a story from the point of view of a female outcast and what would happen if she found the DEADGIRL this time … instead of using the DEADGIRL for the impetus of her sexual fantasies, what if she used the DEADGIRL for her revenge fantasies instead?

What I ended up writing could maybe be described as “Precious meets The Pit with a zombie attack dog. Maybe this movie would have sucked. Maybe people would have loved it. Who knows? It wouldn’t have hurt to at least try, but alas it wasn’t to be.

So as a special treat to my fans and blog readers and the fans of the first DEADGIRL, I’ve decided to let everyone who’s interested take a look at the un-produced screenplay.

Deadgirl is one of my all-time favorite horror movies. It’s beyond fucked up, but gripping and thought-provoking. The kind of film that can find your most repressed sinister inklings and immediately make you feel guilty enough to donate time and money to the local women’s shelter.

Lebanese actress Razane Jammal makes her feature film debut in Tobe Hooper’s Abu Dhabi-set supernatural thriller Djinn. The 24-year-old stunner plays an Emirati woman forced to return from America to her country by her husband, who is unaware that the new home that awaits them is built on cursed land.

She tells Rolling Stone:

You know, werewolves and vampires work really well in the West. In the East, it’s more about the djinn – everybody kind of fears them. So I really think that the movie is going to be a success, because it’s a topic that hasn’t really been talked about.

There’s a lot of local talent – it’s a real East meets West – it’s very interesting and it’s a very beautiful mix, and I think it’s going to work everywhere.

Djinn costars the gorgeous Aiysha Hart (in her movie debut), Malik McCall (Dreamcatcher) and Khalid Laith (The Devil’s Double) as Jammal’s husband. The ImageNation-produced film is Hooper’s first directorial effort since 2005’s Mortuary.

Kate Beckinsale has revealed that she and Jessica Biel engage in a no-holds barred cat-fight in director Len Wiseman’s upcoming remake of Paul Verhoeven’s 1990 sci-fi classic Total Recall. The British stunner, who can be seen this month in Screen Gems Underworld: Awakening, plays Lori Quaid.

She tells Collider:

I’m beating everyone up. Fighting with Colin [Farrell], fighting with Jessica [Biel]. The fight with Jessica is going to be great. I like the fact that it’s a proper fight.

It’s not two girls, and one of them, the shoulder is ripped off, and the bra comes out. It’s not like one of those stupid girl fights. It’s a proper fight.

Lori, if you recall, is wife to Doug Quaid, a man who is either a humble factory worker with a memory implant or a wanted super-spy. The part was memorably played in the original film by a then up-and-coming Sharon Stone.

While we all know a “proper fight” between attractive women should involve pillows, mud or Jell-O, Beckinsale’s fight scene with Biel, who plays resistance fighter Melina, sounds promising, especially by the looks of the wardrobe (click here and here).

Total Recall arrives in theaters on Aug. 3.

Horror fans will soon get a chance to see Katrina Bowden’s (”30 Rock”) bedside manner when she stars alongside Paz de la Huerta (”Boardwalk Empire”) in Lionsgate’s upcoming slasher Nurse 3-D. The 23-year-old stunner speaks about the role in the February issue of Maxim magazine.

She spills:

It’s definitely different from what I’ve done. It’s kind of like “Dexter” meets Single White Female. Paz de la Huerta and I are both nurses. But she’s a serial killer and she kind of becomes obsessed with me.

Bowden, who is featured on the magazine’s cover and in a sexy butt-cheek baring pictorial, recently wrapped Lionsgate’s Piranha 3-DD, due out later this year. She can also be seen in the hill-billy horror-comedy Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, now available on DVD and Blu-ray.

Nurse 3-D is directed by Douglas Aarniokoski (The Day) and costars Corbin Bleu (High School Musical), Boris Kodjoe (Resident Evil: Afterlife) and Adam Herschman (Bucky Larson).

Looks like whatever smoke David Fincher blew up Rooney Mara’s ass to get her naked for his American redo of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has finally gone to her head. The 26-year-old has been poo-pooing all over her previous non-Fincher projects, including Platinum Dunes’ 2010 remake of Wes Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street in which she starred as Nancy Holbrook.

She tells Entertainment Weekly Magazine:

Sometimes you don’t want to get something, but you do a really good job and you get it anyway. That’s kind of [what happened] with A Nightmare on Elm Street. I didn’t really even want it. And then I went in [to audition], and I was like, ‘Fuck. I definitely got that.

I was like, this isn’t what I signed up for. If this is what my opportunities are going to be like, then I’m not that interested in acting. So I was very discouraged and disheartened. And then I got the Social Network script. That kind of re-inspired me.

Funny, but I don’t remember Mara in The Social Network at all. I do, however, remember the hot Asian chick that sets Andrew Garfield’s scarf on fire.

Details for the Ridley Scott-directed, Damon Lindelof-scripted Prometheus have been scarce. Up until now, all that’s known about the project, which serves as a stand-alone companion piece to Scott’s 1979 classic Alien, is that it involves a team of scientists stranded on a planet with hostile inhabitants.

But, now, Academy Award-winning actress Charlize Theron is shedding a little light on the movie. She tells Total Film:

I actually don’t play the heroine in it; that’s Noomi Rapace. I play somewhat of a villain in it. She’s not a believer, she’s not a scientist, she is the red tape that everyone has to go through.

She’s working with the company that’s sponsoring this whole thing, and you can feel she definitely has an agenda, which we pick up in the third act. She’s more quiet thunder.

Prometheus is Scott’s first work of horror since 2001’s Hannibal. The film costars Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class), Idris Elba (Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance) and Guy Pearce (Lockout).

Prometheus will be in theaters on June 8, 2012.

David Fincher’s remake of the Swedish thriller The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, an adaptation of late author Stieg Larsson’s bestselling novel, is set to arrive in theaters tomorrow. Rooney Mara, who plays Lisbeth Salander, spoke to Allure about going nude for the part and getting her nipple pierced.

She says:

Nudity is such a huge part of the character in the book, so I never thought twice about it. I’m naked quite a lot in the movie, and I thought, she has it in the book, and she should have it [in the movie].

Because of all the tattoos and the makeup and the piercings, and the physical transformations my body has to go through, it would always feel sort of like I was in costume, even if I was naked.

This would be exciting if Mara didn’t look fuglier than Noomi Rapace did in the 2009 Niels Arden Oplev version. Isn’t the point to a remake to improve on the original? I’m sure Megan Fox would have pierced her nipple for the role too.
