Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have released the first official trailer for writer/director Zack Snyder’s (Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole)  eagerly anticipated fantasy-actioner Sucker Punch. The film is headline by Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Jaime Chung, Carla Gugino, and Jena Malone.

Ah, movies. They’re magic really. Cinematic voodoo capable of bedazzling our minds with a mix of story, stunts, and special effects. But, some of the biggest and most impressive F/X have nothing to do with blowing up cities or creating giant man-eating monsters.

Hollywood’s most inspired wizardry occurs on the makeup chair. That’s where they can take something that looks like this:

… and work on it for eight hours until it becomes something more penis-friendly like this:

Pretty amazing, huh?

I don’t know about you, but it’s far more important for my penis to believe a film’s heroine is totally bang-able than whether or not the werewolves in Twilight look real (they don’t). Suddenly, I feel bad about forwarding through the makeup/wardrobe awards segment during the Oscars.

The Sucker Punch synopsis reads:

Sucker Punch is an epic action fantasy that takes us into the vivid imagination of a young girl whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, but her incredible adventures blur the lines between what’s real and what is imaginary…with potentially tragic consequences.

The film is based on an original screenplay by Zach Snyder and Steve Shibuya. It’s vagina-less costars include Scott Glenn, Jon Hamm, Michael Jai White, and Oscar Isaac.

Sucker Punch arrives in 2-D and 3-D on March 25, 2011.

Summit Entertainment hosted a Comic-Con panel today for director Patrick Lussier’s (My Bloody Valentine 3-D) supernatural road-rager Drive Angry 3-D. Joining Lussier on the stage were actors Nicholas Cage, William Fichtner, and blonde babe Amber Heard.

Drive Angry follows Milton (Cage), a damned soul, as he escapes hell to embark on a quest to run down the cult that murdered his daughter and abducted his grandchild for sacrifice. On the run from the police and Satan’s own bounty hunter (Fichtner), Milton is aided on his revenge mission by lost-soul waitress Piper (Heard).

The film, which was shot with 3-D cams (no post conversion here), wrapped two months ago and marks Cage’s first foray into the format, which the actor welcomed as an opportunity to amp up his physical performance.

Said Cage:

How could I mess with the camera. What moves could I do that would go into the 4th row of the audience? That’s what I was trying to see.

Lussier told Comic-Con attendees that the film was inspired by action films of the ’60s and ’70s including Bullitt and Vanishing Point. The director also revealed that the title was taken from a line of dialogue in the highly overrated 1993 Bill Murray comedy Groundhog Day.

Drive Angry 3-D costars Billy Burke (Twilight Saga), David Morse (Disturbia), Charlotte Ross (”NYPD Blue”), Katy Mixon (The Quiet), Bryan Massey (Boggy Creek), Pruitt Taylor Vince (Captivity), Wanetah Walmsley (Vampires Suck), and Playboy model Christa Campbell (2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams).

Look for it in theaters on Feb 11, 2011.

Looks like its game over for the world’s most successful and best horror movie franchise.

Saw producers Oren Koules and Mark Burg are expected to announce today at Comic-Con that Saw 3-D, the seventh chapter in the Jigsaw saga, will be the last film in the innovative horror series.

But, it’s not all sad news.

Guinness World Records editor-in-chief Craig Glenday will be on hand tonight to officially name Saw as the Most Successful Horror Movie Series. To date, the Saw films have earned $732 million in global box office sales.

Come Halloween, you can add my $15 to that total. Saw remains one of the very few horror series that delivers on both story and brutality. I can’t wait for the reboot!

Saw 3-D is directed by Kevin Greutert (Saw 6) and was shot in authentic 3-D. The film stars the great Tobin Bell (John Kramer/Jigsaw), Costas Mandylor (Det. Hoffman), Betsy Russell (Jill Tuck), genre babe Gina Holden (Final Destination 3) and original Saw player Cary Elwes, reprising his role as Dr. Lawrence Gordon.

Costarring are Sean Patrick Flanery (Mongolian Death Worm), Chad Donella (Final Destination), Laurence Anthony, Dean Armstrong (Repo! The Genetic Opera), Naomi Sniekus, and which ever aspiring actress won VH1’s “Scream Queens 2″ reality competition.

Saw 3-D arrives in theaters on Oct. 29.

Just in time for Comic-Con, the House of Mouse has released a bitchin’ new trailer for its upcoming sci-fi actioner Tron: Legacy. A sequel to Disney’s 1982 classic Tron, the film centers on Sam Flynn’s (Garrett Hedlund) search for his father Kevin (Jeff Bridges) inside the Tron mainframe.

Trailer highlights include seeing 60-year-old Bridges on screen as a young man once again and Olivia Wilde in latex doing what hot chicks in latex do best: move and stuff. The money-shot, however, comes at the ass-end of the trailer when we see Kevin Flynn jump into his a new ride (goodbye light-cycle).

Summit Entertainment has rolled out the first official images for its Nicholas Cage road-rage supernatural-actioner Drive Angry 3-D. Directed by Patrick Lussier, the film costarsthe very hot Amber Heard (pictured above), milfy Charlotte Ross, Playboy model Christa Campbell, and some other fine vagina-less actors.

Drive Angry follows a man (Cage) on a quest to run down the pricks that murdered his daughter and abducted his grandchild. Producer Mike De Luca (Priest, GhostRider) promises the film will be rated a hard R and include plenty of “car parts and body parts flying at you in 3-D.”

The film’s official synopsis reads:

In the newest 3D action-adventure from the director of MY BLOODY VALENTINE, DRIVE ANGRY stars Nicolas Cage as Milton, a hardened felon who has broken out of hell for one last chance at redemption. Intent on stopping a vicious cult who murdered his daughter, he has three days to stop them before they sacrifice her baby beneath a full moon.

San Diego Comic-Con attendees hoping to catch a glimpse of director Alexandre Aja’s fish-&-chicks frightener Piranha 3-D this week will have to jump ship from the convention center to the Regal Horton Plaza. According to a press release from The Weinstein Company, the decision to screen a trailer from the film away from the convention was made shortly after event organizers sunk the studio’s plan to showcase R-rated footage during its Piranha Q&A panel.

The panel will now be held on Thursday, July 22 from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Regal Horton Hotel.

Director Aja explains :

It doesn’t make sense to go to an event like Comic-Con and not show what the movie is…It’s frustrating because I was so excited to show this at Comic-Con – I made the movie for that crowd.

The offending footage in question is set at a wet T-shirt contest in the fictional spring break town of Lake Victoria which is overrun by bloodthirsty piranha after an underwater earthquake. The clip includes graphic gore and bodacious coed boobs.

Piranha 3-D opens Aug. 20 and stars Elisabeth Shue (Hollow Man), Jerry O’Connell (Mission to Mars),Ving Rhames (Day of the Dead), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Richard Dreyfus (Jaws), Adam Scott (The Return), Dina Meyer (Saw IV), Jessica Szohr (House at the End of the Drive), porn star Riley Steele, and model/actress Kelly Brook.

Dimension Films has posted promo stills featuring British model/actress Kelly Brook on their sexy Piranha 3-D viral website Wild Wild Girls. The shots showcase Brook’s natural talents … in a red bikini.

The photos are taken from a scene that finds Brook and porn star Riley Steele’s characters, Danni and Crystal, going wild in the fictional spring break town of Lake Victoria. Jerry O’Connell, who plays Joe Francis (Girls Gone Wild) parody Derrick Jones, films them as they work a crowd of horny party revelers into a frenzy.

Dimension Films have updated their Piranha 3-D viral marketing website, Wild Wild Girls, with nude photos of porn-star-turned-almost-actress Riley Steele in a brilliantly shameless effort to bait chronic masturbators moviegoers to see director Alexandre Aja’s remake of Joe Dante’s 1978 original.

Of course, seeing nude pictures of a porn star is like seeing your sister naked—you’ve seen it all before, but it’s nice to know it’s there. But, I digress.

Steele and costar Kelly Brook are  profiled on the site as their party-girl characters Crystal and Danni, respectively. The gorgeous duo also share a nude underwater scene in the flick.

In June of ‘09, Riley told AVN:

Garfield has starred in director Terry Gilliam’s The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and will next be seen in Mark Romanek’s sci-fi drama Never Let Me Go and David Fincher’s Facebook story The Social Network.

Sony made the announcement today during an international press event in Cancun, Mexico. From the press release:

After a comprehensive worldwide casting search, Andrew Garfield has been chosen to portray Peter Parker when Spider-Man swings back onto the screen in 3D on July 3, 2012. The new film will begin production in early December directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt. Laura Ziskin and Avi Arad will produce the film from Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios.

Today’s confirmation culminates what has been one of the most eagerly anticipated casting announcements in recent memory. Bloggers, pop culture speculators, and everyday fans have pored over and analyzed every conceivable online rumor in an attempt to discover the identity of the next actor to play Peter Parker. Garfield will immediately begin preparing for the coveted role.

The Spiderman reboot is an origins film based on Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley’s “Ultimate Spiderman” comics, which finds our web-slinging hero back in high school. The film is budgeted at $80 million and will be released in 3-D on July 3, 2012.

Garfield is reportedly being paid $500,000 to play the beloved web-slinger. That may not seem like a lot of money until you realize that you’re making $13 an hour and will never meet a hot girl who will want to screw you while you wear your Hot Dog on a Stick uniform.

Warner Bros. has released the first official trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the last entry in the beloved blockbuster saga. The film is being split in two with the first part set to hit theaters on Nov. 19 and the second on July 15, 2011.

If like me, you nodded off during last year’s snoozefest Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, the following synopsis for the Deathly Hallows part one should bring you up to speed:

Part 1 begins as Harry, Ron, and Hermione set out on their perilous mission to track down and destroy the secret to Voldemort’s immortality and destruction—the Horcruxes. On their own, without the guidance of their professors or the protection of Professor Dumbledore, the three friends must now rely on one another more than ever. But there are Dark Forces in their midst that threaten to tear them apart.

Meanwhile, the wizarding world has become a dangerous place for all enemies of the Dark Lord. The long-feared war has begun and Voldemort’s Death Eaters seize control of the Ministry of Magic and even Hogwarts, terrorizing and arresting anyone who might oppose them.
