A full-length trailer for Sony Pictures’ The Amazing Spiderman has hit the web. Based on the Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley “Ultimate Spiderman” comics, the reboot serves as an origins story that finds our friendly neighborhood crime fighter back in high school.

The Marc Webb-directed film stars Andrew Garfield (Spiderman), Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy), Denis Leary (Capt. George Stacy), Rhys Ifans (The Lizard), Chris Zylka (Flash Thompson), Sally Field (May Parker), Martin Sheen (Ben Parker) and C. Thomas Howell as the Soul Man.

The Amazing Spiderman swings into theaters on July 3.

It appears that after starring as Lois Lane on The CW’s long-running Superman series “Smallville,” Erica Durance is now ready to fight crime as a costumed superhero. The pretty 33-year-old Canadian actress will play a delusional vigilante who thinks she’s Wonder Woman on NBC’s David E. Kelly-produced lawyer dramedy “Harry’s Law.”

Set to premiere Jan. 11, the episode finds the Wonder Woman wannabe up on criminal charges and in need of counsel from Harriet Korn’s (Kathy Bates) Cincinnati-based law firm. Durance, who in the episode wears the costume originally designed for Adrianne Palicki in Kelly’s aborted “Wonder Woman” pilot, spoke to TV Guide about the character and outfit.

She says:

Having been in the comic world for a while now, I’m really very respectful of the people that love this character. I do take it very seriously.  As a side note, just to be light about it, any woman wearing tight pants is not super excited the first time she puts them on. [Laughs] I wasn’t exactly, you know, tight pants- or underwear-ready.

I’m very grateful for the pants. I know that people were very excited about the underwear and seeing them. To be quite frank, I don’t know if I could’ve done the underwear justice at this point in time and it might have been more upsetting for people to see me in them than to not, so I think the pants are a safe bet for me.

I’ll say it again. Wonder Woman in pants makes as much sense as having the Kool-Aid Man in a pair of cargos.

Durance, who played Lois Lane on “Smallville” for 10 seasons, has got a few genre creds under her belt, namely the 2002 indie Canadian frightener Sasquatch, Uwe Boll’s 2003 movie adaptation of Sega’s zombie shoot’em up House of the Dead, and the 2006 New Line sequel Butterfly Effect 2.

She’s also guest starred on the TV shows “Stargate SG-1,” “Tru Calling,” and “Andromeda.”

Emma Stone portrays Peter Parker’s love interest Gwen Stacy in director Marc Webb’s (500 Days of Summer) upcoming Spiderman reboot for Sony Pictures. Images featuring the 23-year-old stunner in character have hit the … umm … web.

Warner Bros. has released a new 2-minute-plus trailer for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, the final chapter in his Batman saga. The new footage provides a first look at Cat Woman (Anne Hathaway) and hints at villain Bane’s (Tom Hardy) disdain for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Dark Knight also stars Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Nestor Carbonell and, of course, Christian Bale as the Batman. It arrives in theaters on July 20, 2012.

The Associação da Luta Contra o Cancer (ALCC) in Mozambique, Africa is coming under-fire for using Ad agency DDB’s provocative artist renderings of DC and Marvel superheroes in their breast cancer awareness print campaign.

The ads, which DDB did not license from DC and Marvel (hence the omission of their faces), feature Wonder Woman, Cat Woman, Storm (pictured above), and She-Hulk examining their large perfect animated breasts for abnormalities.

The ads are being called sexist and juvenile, and the ALCC criticized for not using real Mozambican women in their campaign. But, supporters of the ads state that doing so would be like asking people to care about saving the tuna or any other ugly animal (or, so I imagine them stating).

If you woke up to find you had super powers, would you squeeze into your sister’s tights and set out to fight other guys in tights … or would you use those powers to scare kids and get women naked? That’s the dilemma facing three teenage boys in 20th Century Fox’s thought provoking found-footage sci-fi drama Chronicle.

Directed by Josh Trank from a script by Max Landis, son of John Landis (An American Werewolf in London), the film stars Michael B. Jordan (”Friday Night Lights”), Alex Russell (Bait), Dane DeHaan (”In Treatment”), Joe Vaz (Lost Boys: The Thirst), Anna Wood, and Ashley Hinshaw (Rites of Passage).

Tiny waist, giant boobs, skimpy outfits—the animated babes found in video games and comic books are pretty racy. Unfortunately, the sling bikinis and thigh-high boots never make the wardrobe when played on the big screen by Hollywood starlets. Thankfully, animated features deliver a more thrilling portrayal.

Take DC and Warner Bros’ home-video original Batman: Year One. Both the DVD and Blu-ray include a bonus 15-minute film that finds Catwoman (voiced by “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Dollhouse” babe Eliza Dushku) working as a stripper to get close to diamond smuggler Rough Cut.

DC Universe will premiere the short at the New York Comic-Con this Friday so don’t expect any leaked footage until about 30 seconds after the presentation goes down. In the meantime, peep the pic:

Marvel Studios has released the first full-length trailer for its eagerly anticipated superhero movie mash-up The Avengers. Written and directed by geek messiah Joss Whedon, the film is the true story of eight superheroes picked to live in a house, work together and have their lives taped to find out what happens when heroes stop being polite… and start getting real.

The Avengers all-star cast includes Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Samuel Jackson (Nick Fury), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Potts), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill) and—of course—Ralph Fiennes and Uma Thurman as John Steed and Emma Peel.

Here you see Portuguese model/actress Paula Labaredas shooting a commercial as comic heroine Vampirella for director Dave Edwards upcoming documentary ComicCosplay, an in depth look at people obsessed with dressing up as their favorite movie, anime, and comic book characters.

These shots were taken at Meltdown Comics in Hollywood, Ca. Labaredas looks hot as hell, but the pics don’t look all that professional which leads me to wonder if she’s been bamboozled into starring in one of those parody pornos the kids are crazy about these days ::cough:: Not Vampirella XXX.

Labaredas’ acting creds include the creature-feature Camel Spiders, an uncredited turn as a Princess Leia cosplayer in the Seth Rogan-voiced alien-comedy Paul, and sex comedies Bachelor Party 2: The Last Temptation and National Lampoon’s Cattle Call.
