Black Rock director and star Katie Aselton spoke with EW about the lengthy nude cat-and-mouse scenes she shares with costars Lake Bell (pictured above) and Kate Bosworth (below). The film, which was acquired at Sundance this year by LD Distribution, finds the alluring trio warming up to a group of male poachers while vacationing on a deserted island off the coast of Maine.

Trouble starts when Aselton’s character Abby flirts it up with one of the guys, but then gets all Jodi Foster/Accused on his horny ass. Shit hits the fan, and the girls are off and running with the men in pursuit. Hindered by their bodacious femininity, they fall in a lake and must quickly shed their wet clothes to avoid hypothermia.

Aselton explains:

That’s where the girls start to turn primal. That is a true animal instinct. It’s 43 degrees, you have to take those wet clothes off if you’re going to survive, and they’re vulnerable, but they’re finding their strength. That’s truly when their inner strength is taking over, and that’s exciting.

It’s me playing by the rules of the genre, and abiding by those rules on my own terms. It’s like, okay I’ll do nudity, but it’s not going to be in a super sexual way.

Black Rock will mark Aselton’s nude onscreen debut and will serve as Bell’s second (she went topless on HBO’s “How to Make It in America”). The film also provides an opportunity for Bosworth to redeem herself after starring in Rob Lurie’s neutered  remake of  Sam Peckinpah’s Straw Dogs.

Black Rock is written by Mark Duplass (Cyrus), Aselton’s husband and costar on the hilarious FX fanatsy-football series “The League.” Jay Paulson (“Happy Town”), Will Bouvier, and Anslem Richardson (”As the World Turns”) play the angry, blue-balled hunters.

A trailer for You Got Served director Chris Stokes new horror show The Helpers is raising the roof, yo. The film stars German-born stunner Kristen Quintrall as one of seven Las Vegas-bound friends captured and tortured by crazed orphans hell-bent on vengeance.

Quintrall, best known for her work on Syfy and The Asylum projects, toplines a cast that includes Christopher Jones (Somebody Help Me), Black Thomas (Step Up 2: The Streets), Korean babe Denyce Lawton (”House of Payne”), and former “Man Show” juggy dancer Rachel Sterling.

IFC Films has released a trailer for  director David Brooks’ feature film debut ATM. Written by Buried scribe Chris Sparling, the confined-space thriller follows three coworkers as they’re stalked late at night at an ATM vestibule by a lunatic eager to withdraw blood from their heads.

The film stars gorgeous Brit Alice Eve and two dudes that hopefully will perish violently within the first 20 minutes so that we can concentrate on Eve and her clingy white blouse and fantasize about how she would reward us if we came to her rescue—I’m guessing bangers and mash, her treat.

Lionsgate has released the first official trailer for writer/producer Joss Whedon’s eagerly anticipated and long-delayed Cabin in the Woods. The film marks the directorial debut of Cloverfield scribe Drew Goddard and centers on a mysterious cabin used by  a clandestine organization to torment and murder young outdoors enthusiasts.

Peep it:

I gotta say it kinda has a vibe that reminds me of Vincenzo Natali’s Cube … which was fucking awesome and will be hard to top—although, having a cute chick bump-and-grind by a fireplace and make out with a mounted wolf head is a good start.

Cabin in the Woods stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Richard Jenkins (Let Me In), Jesse Williams (”Grey’s Anatomy”), Fran Kranz (“Dollhouse”), Brian White (The Shield”), Bradley Whitford (Robocop 3) and hotties Kristen Connolly (”As the World Turns”) and Anna Hutchison (”Power Rangers”).

The film arrives in theaters on April 13.

Rachel Nichols (Conan the Barbarian) is facing off against stunt-woman-turned-actress Zoe Bell (Death Proof) in Cosmic Toast Studios’ indie survival-frightener Raze: Fight or Die. Details are scarce, but producers describe the film as being a female Fight Club-meets-Hostel hybrid.

A teaser for the flick has been released and it shows Nichols and Bell threatening each other. Now, I’m totally in Nichols’ corner, but Bell is looking pretty butch these days. Something tells me Nichols is in trouble.

Sucker Punch starlet Jamie Chung and Twilight babe Christian Serratos have boarded Japanese director Takashi Shimizu’s (The Grudge) in-flight frightener 7500. They join Amy Smart, Leslie Bibb, Scout Taylor-Compton, Nicky Whelan, and Ryan Kwanten in the CBS Films production set to shoot this month.

Written by “LOST” scribe Craig Rosenberg, the film follows a group of apparently very attractive passengers terrorized by an evil force after the mysterious death of a passenger on Vista Pacific Flight 7500. Chung will play a newly engaged flight attendant on her maiden voyage.

Chung’s genre creds include the 2009 remake Sorority Row, Dragonball Evolution (based on the Japanese Dragon Ball magna), and the indie-anthology Burning Palms. She will next be seen as a prisoner-prostitute in the abduction drama Eden.

Christian Serratos

Serratos’ role in 7500 is a little more vague, described only as a “woman who shares a secret with her boyfriend.” Aside from showing her ass for PETA, the 21-year-old stunner hasn’t done much outside of starring in Summit’s stupidly successful Twilight Saga. She’ll be seen this month in Breaking Dawn: Part One.

7500 is slated for release on Aug. 31, 2012.

Australian model-turned-actress Nicky Whelan will cause quite a bit of turbulence in moviegoers’ pants next summer when she stars in Japanese director Takashi Shimizu’s (The Grudge) supernatural in-flight frightener 7500.

The CBS Films production—set to shoot later this month—follows a group of passengers terrorized by a supernatural force after the mysterious death of a passenger on Vista Pacific Flight 7500. Whelan will play a bitchy newlywed with control issues.

Joining the gorgeous 30-year-old sheila are fellow babes Amy Smart (Mirrors), Leslie Bibb (Midnight Meat Train), Scout Taylor-Compton (Halloween), and Ryan Kwanten (”True Blood”). 7500 is slated for release on Aug. 31, 2012.

Whelan has appeared in Rob Zombie’s Halloween II, starred in the ninth and final season of “Scrubs,” and played Jason Sudeikis’ spectacularly topless fuck-fantasy in the criminally underrated Farrelly brothers’ comedy Hall Pass.

In the confined-space thriller 247°F, a group of friends end up getting trapped inside a sauna, unable to stop its rising temperature. While this premise may seem a bit silly, its genius soon becomes evident when stars Scout Taylor-Compton (Halloween) and Christine Ulloa (”Charmed”) strip down to their tiny bikinis and spend the duration of the film sweating and screaming.

Well played, unknown filmmakers Bega Jguburia and Levan Bakhia. Well played.

247°F was shot in Georgia and is being shopped at this week’s American Film Market in Santa Monica, CA. The film’s vagina-less costars (yawn) include Travis Van Winkle (Friday the 13), Michael Copon (The Scorpion King: Rise of a Warrior), and Tyler Mane (X-Men).

Leslie Bibb, star of the upcoming ABC midseason replacement series “Good Christian Belles,” is ready for take-off in Japanese director Takashi Shimizu’s (The Grudge) in-flight frightener 7500. The 37-year-old stunner joins Amy Smart and Ryan Kwanten in the CBS Films production, set to shoot later this month.

The film  follows a group of passengers terrorized by a supernatural force after the mysterious death of a passenger on Vista Pacific Flight 7500. Bibb will play a flight attendant with a secret, while Smart and Kwanten portray a married couple traveling with friends to Japan.

Bibb’s genre creds include Heathers scribe Daniel Waters’ horror-comedy Sex and Death 101, the superb Clive Barker-produced Midnight Meat Train, Michael Dougherty’s beloved Halloween anthology Trick r’ Treat, and Jon Favreau’s Iron Man 1 & 2.

Newbie screenwriters Brandon Bestenheider and Allen Bey have sold their spec script Grim Night to Universal Pictures for a reported six-or-seven figure sum. Director Bryan Bertino’s (The Strangers) production shingle Unbroken Pictures is attached to produce. No word yet on whether Bertino will direct the project as well.

Grim Night follows an American family as they attempt to survive an attack by creatures who emerge once a year to murder thousands of people around the world. A teaser for the spec depicts the monsters as Grim Reapers—hooded robes and all. But, unless cutbacks have forced the Reapers to work one day a year, I’m pretty sure they’re busy year round. Therefore, these Grims must be a whole new kind of evil.
