Hammer Films have released a red-band trailer for their upcoming remake of the 2008 Swedish vampire drama Let the Right One In. Directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield), the film has been renamed Let Me In and stars 14-year-old Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Road) as the story’s bullied loner and 13-year-old Chloe Moretz (Kick Ass) as his vampire girlfriend and guardian.

The Swedish film Let the Right One In is directed by Tomas Alfredson and based on the best selling novel Lat den Ratte Komma by author John Ajvide Lindqvist. The film is included in Clatto’s prestigious list of 15 Vampire Movies That Won’t Make You Gay.

Let Me In arrives in theaters on Oct. 1.

Sony Screen Gems has released the first official trailer for director Scott Stewart’s post-apocalyptic-vampire-frightener Priest. British actor Paul Bettany (Legion) headlines the film as a man of the cloth out to slay the bloodsuckers that have abducted his 18-year-old niece.

The official synopsis reads:

Priest is set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. Paul Bettany is Priest, a legendary warrior priest during the last Vampire War, who now lives in obscurity among the other human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities controlled by the Church.

But when his 18-year-old niece is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires in the desolate wastelands outside, Priest breaks his sacred vows and ventures out to find her and seek vengeance upon those responsible, especially their brutal leader (Karl Urban).

Priest is joined on his crusade by his niece’s boyfriend, Hicks (Cam Gigandet), a local outpost sheriff, and Priestess (Maggie Q), a member of his former legion of vampire-killers who has otherworldly fighting skills.

As a Catholic school survivor, I curled up into the fetal position and clenched my ass cheeks tightly when I first heard Sony Screen Gems was developing a horror film entitled Priest. Some topics are just too personal. But, now that I see it’s just another vampire movie, I can go back to living my normal life again. Hmm. I wonder if the the local altar boys want to come over to see porn and take E. I should call them.

A red-band trailer for Ghost House Pictures’ upcoming vampire frightener 30 Days of Night: Dark Days was premiered at Comic-Con earlier this week. The film is a direct-to-home-video sequel to David Slade’s 30 Days of Night and stars “LOST” players Kiele Sanchez and Harold Perrineau, “Vampire Diaries” alum Mia Kirshner, and Diora Baird (Night of the Demons).

30 Days of Night: Dark Days is directed by Ben Ketai and based on the acclaimed horror-comic created by Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith. Sanchez replaces original 30 Days of Night star Melissa George as the series lead Stella Oleson.

The official synopsis reads:

It’s been a year since the Alaskan town of Barrow’s population was decimated by vampires during its annual month long sunset. Riddled with grief over the death of her husband, bound by nightmares and void of all emotions beyond hate and sorrow, Stella has spent the past months traveling the world, trying to convince others that vampires exist.

The CW has just released a new promo trailer for its runaway hit series “The Vampire Diaries.” The clip showcases pretty-boy Ian Somerhalder as wicked bloodsucker Damon Salvatore, highlighting some of his more vicious kills and his now classic Twilight rip, “What’s so special about this Bella girl? Edward’s so whipped.”

Up until now, despite the fact that I’m a huge fan of series creator and writer Kevin Williamson (Scream, “Dawson’s Creek”), I have dismissed “The Vampire Diaries” as “Supernatural”-like masturbation fodder for horny tween girls and their fake-tanned, Seven-for-Mankind-wearing single moms (not that there’s anything wrong with that).

However, I gotta admit that this promo looks so fucking cool that it’s making me think I should just put on some panties and start watching the show every Thursday night with my neighbor’s 12-year-old daughters.

“The Vampire Diaries” costars Nina Dobrev and some other guy who isn’t Ian Somerhalder. The series returns for its second season on Sept. 9.

Hub Productions held a huge “Vampire Diaries” convention on Sunday, July 4th in Melbourne, Australia. The event hosted raffles, auctions, and plenty of vendors selling highly coveted show-inspired merch.

For the thousand of fans in attendance, however, the day’s big score came in the form of a meet-&-greet with the series stars Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, and that other guy who isn’t Ian Somerhalder, all of whom skipped out on celebrating the good ole’ U.S. of fucking A to be with their diehard fans from down under.

Along with signing autographs and posing for pictures, the actors shared anecdotes about the show, playfully ribbed each other, and even hinted at upcoming plot developments.

“The Vampire Diaries” is writer-producer Kevin Williamson’s (Scream, “Dawson’s Creek”) adaptation of L.J. Smith’s popular novel series of the same name for the CW television network. The show follows high-schooler Elena Gilbert (Dobrev) as she’s courted by two vampire brothers (Somerhalder & that other guy).

The show won a People’s Choice award for Favorite New TV Drama earlier this year.

“True Blood” star Anna Paquin tells Self magazine that she and her costars have seen the trailer for New Sensations’ porn parody of the HBO bloodsucker serial and finds it amusing.

She says:

How funny is that? Someone brought their computer to set and we all watched the trailer for it. We all think it’s hilarious!

There are those who might say our show didn’t really need to have a porn parody because we do a pretty good job. How much racier can it get? Well, obviously it can, but you know.

Sadly, the piece failed to provide Paquin’s thoughts on Evan Stone’s balls.

HBO has picked up “True Blood” for a fourth season.

Robert Pattinson has got a message for all the Twi-hards that have camped out in front of L.A.’s  Nokia Theater since Sunday to see him and costars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner arrive at tonight’s premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse: He’s bored.

Pattinson tells The  New York Times:

It can get a little boring. The good news is that the whole thing is done in seven months.
