Megan Fox Cast in ‘TMNT’ Reboot (Michael Bay Must Really Hate Her Still)

Michael Bay thrilled movie-going penises around the world this week when he announced that Megan Fox would star as the female lead in director Jonathan Liebesman’s reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, set to go into production in April for a May 16, 2014 release.

Bay posted on his site:

TMNT: we are bringing Megan Fox back into the family!

TMNT, first published as a comic by Mirage Studios in 1984, centers on four turtles that mutate into humanoids after being exposed to radioactive slime. A giant rat trains them in martial arts and they become crime fighters who yada yada yada Megan Fox!

Fox will play computer programmer and Turtle ally April O’Neil. The role reunites her with Bay, who famously fired her from Transformers: Dark of the Moon after she compared him to Hitler in the press. Bay has since revealed that the order came from producer Steven Spielberg, who was far more offended by the comment.

According to Variety, Fox beat out actresses Jane Levy, Anna Kendrick and Elizabeth Olsen for the part. Bay is producing TMNT through his Platinum Dunes shingle for Paramount Pictures.
