Sony Pictures has released a trailer for writer and director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson’s I Know What You Did Last Summer, a third sequel in the slasher franchise of the same name, arriving in theaters July 18.

The new film follows five friends who cover up their involvement in a deadly car accident, only to be hunted down a year later by a killer seeking vengeance. The group soon seeks help from two awful and immoral people who also left someone for dead back in 1997 and survived the massacre that followed.

Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. return to the franchise as Julie James and boyfriend Ray Bronson. New faces include Lola Tung (“The Summer I Turned Pretty”), Chase Sui Wonders (Bodies Bodies Bodies), Sarah Pidgeon (Lazareth), and “Outer Banks” stunner Madelyn Cline (pictured).

Hewitt’s role as Julie James in 1997’s original I Know What You Did Last Summer and its 1998 sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer earned the abundantly talented actress a spot on Clatto’s esteemed list of The Top 10 Babes of Fourth of July Horror in 2013.
