Hannibal Classics has released a new two-minute-plus trailer for Final Girl, the revenge thriller from controversial photographer and Birkin bag hater Tyler Shields. Abigail Breslin plays a high school assassin-in-training out to kill a gang of homicidal hipster kids responsible for hunting and killing girls in the woods.
Breslin made her movie debut at the age of five in M. Night Shyamalan’s Signs. An Oscar-nominated performance in Little Miss Sunshine followed in 2006. Her genre creds include Zombieland, Ender’s Game, Haunterand The Call. She’ll next be seen alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in the zombie drama Maggie.
Open Road has released a new and creepy trailer for Eli Roth’s The Green Inferno. Written by Roth and his Aftershockcollaborator Guillermo Amoedo, the gory cannibal thriller marks Roth’s return to directing since 2007’s Hostel 2.
Shot in the rainforests of Peru, the film follows student activists from New York caught and cooked in the Amazon by an endangered tribe of cannibals they had set out to rescue (doh!). The film stars Aftershock starlets Lorenza Izzo andAriel Levy, pop singer Sky Ferreria and Kirby Bliss Blanton (Project X).
Posted above is the Sin City: A Dame to KillFor poster the MPAA doesn’t want you to see. The group ruled the one-sheet showed too much of Eva Green’s breast to be appropriate, noting specifically her areola and booby under curve. Green is playing femme fatal Ava Lord in the film.
Now, of course, the image is everywhere… just like The Weinstein Company planned… and, unlike most entertainment news sites and blogs who feel insulted by the stunt, we are grateful for the pr stunt and happy to play along.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s long-awaited Sin City sequel, based on the Miller’s comic of the same name, published in 1993 by Dark Horse Comics. The film arrives in theaters Aug. 22.
There’s an overwhelming sense of panic that washes over people when they lose their iPhones. Mostly because they’ve got countless of embarrassing dick pics and duck-selfies saved on them. For this reason, many rely on the Find My iPhone app to track down their smart phone when it was drunkenly left behind.
But, what if some evil mofo used that technology to lure beautiful young women to a hellish trap? Therein lies the premise to Continental Media’s Recovery.
Said director Darrell Wheat:
With our increased addiction to technology, especially our smart phones, I wanted to explore the lengths people would go to retrieve something stolen… especially something with personal information on it, even when you know you’re in over your head.
Recovery stars Project X and Green Inferno star Kirby Bliss Blanton (pictured) as a girl who loses her iPhone on the night of her high school graduation. Using the Find My iPhone app, she tracks it down to a house of psychos determined to make her one of the family.
The film is written by Kyle Arrington and Wheat, making his feature directorial debut. Co-stars include Samuel Larsen (“Glee”), Alex Shaffer (Win Win), and James Landry Hébert (Looper). Cameras roll this summer.
Ashley C. Williams, the Jan Brady of Tom Six’s The Human Centipede, stars in writer and director Matthew Brown’s rape-revenge thriller Julia. Williams plays Julia Shames, a woman trying to cope with the trauma of being brutally gang-banged against her will by chopping off her assailants’ balls… something like that.
Williams made her acting debut at the age of four in the Ron Howard fantasy Willow. Her first adult role was as the centerpiece in 2009’s The Human Centipede: First Sequence. She most recently starred opposite Nicky Whelan (7500) and TV personality Maria Menounos in the horror-comedy Paranormal Movie.
Canadian starlet AnnaMaria Demara stars in Demon Legacy, a supernatural thriller from director and Natural Born Killers co-producer Rand Vossler. Demara plays one of five sexy sorority sisters who unleash a demonic force while messing with a Ouija board in a remote cabin getaway.
The creepy indie frightener, written by Tracy Morse (Creature), found part of its funding through the use of a Kickstarter campaign. To those who contributed, we give a sincere thanks. Because of their generosity, we can enjoy Demara’s natural talents.
Anchor Bay has set an Aug. 12 DVD release date for writer and director A.D. Calvo’s The Midnight Game, starring stunners Renee Olstead (Bling Ring), Valentina de Angelis (Bereavement), Shelby Young (“American Horror Story”), and Deborah Twiss (Kick-Ass).
The Midnight Game finds a group of teens participating in an ancient pagan ritual they read about online, unleashing a demonic force that brings their deepest fears to life, which for one of the dudes appears to be getting pegged by the chick from “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” (pictured above).
Spy Kid turned genre stunner Alexa Vega (Machete Kills) is set to star in 2br/1ba, an indie thriller from director Rob Margolies (Lifelines) for Grindstone Entertainment and Lionsgate. The film co-stars Spencer Grammer (“Greek”), daughter of Kelsey Grammer (“Frasier”)
2br/1ba tells the story of two female roommates (Vega, Grammer) caught in a violent 24-hour battle over money, morals, and everything else girls fight about.
Vega, best known for playing child spy Carmen Cortez in Robert Rodriguez’s family actioner Spy Kids, is coming off Rodriguez’s Machete Kills. She has starred in a string of notable genre flicks, including Bounty Killer, Abandoned Mine, The Devil’s Carnival, Repo: The Genetic Opera, and Mother’s Day.
A trailer for The Weinstein Company’s Kristy has gone online. Directed by Oliver Blackburn (Donkey Punch) and written by Anthony Jaswinski (Vanishing on 7th Street), the thriller stars Haley Bennett (The Haunting of Molly Hartley) as a cute college coed facing off against homicidal hooligans.
Shot in New Orleans, Kristy (previously titled Satanic) follows a group of college kids as they’re attacked in their dormitory during the Thanksgiving Day holiday by a bunch of young photogenic satanists, including Ashley Greene (Twilight Saga).
