Brazilian porn star Adriana Sephora makes her horror movie debut in Full Moon Features’ campy frightener Zombies vs. Strippers, available on Redbox July 10. Sephora, whose previous work includes Stripper Diaries 2 and Stripped and Hogtied, plays one of the lap dancers in the film.
Written and directed by Alex Nicolaou, Zombies vs. Strippers finds a group of nude dancers fending off the undead at the seedy Tough Titty strip club. Costars include Eve Mauro (Wicked Lake), Circus-Szalewski (The Dead Want Women) and newcomers Victoria Levine and Brittany Vaughn.
The Dread boys scored the exclusive trailer. Peep it:
As anyone over 50 will tell you, it’s good to be regular.
Canadian actress Kristen Hager (Alien vs. Predator, Wanted) is now a series regular on Syfy’s supernatural drama “Being Human.” Hager, who plays sexy werewolf Nora on the show, has been a recurring throughout the program’s first two seasons.
“Being Human” centers on a trio of supernatural entities—a ghost (Meaghan Rath), a vampire (Sam Witwer) and a werewolf (Sam Huntington)—living together in a Boston loft. Every week a misunderstanding makes their landlord, Mr. Furley, believe that they are all having sex.
Poster and images from Lionsgate’s Dredd, an adaptation of the U.K. comic-strip Judge Dredd, are now online. The film stars Karl Urban and Olivia Thirlby as Mega City One judges Joe Dredd and Cassandra Anderson and Lena Headey as heavy Madeline Madrigal (AKA: Ma-Ma).
Directed by Pete Travis and penned by Alex Garland (28 Days Later), the dystopian actioner follows the judges as they set out to take down Madeline Madrigal and her gang of drug dealers in Mega City One.
The CW has released a trailer for its upcoming superhero series “Arrow,” an adaptation of DC Comics’ “Green Arrow,” starring Stephen Amell as the vigilante superhero and Katie Cassidy as his former flame Dinah “Laurel” Lance, aka Black Canary.
The footage shows off some promising action, reveals a formidable villain in Deathstroke and provides a good look at a brunette Cassidy, who regrettably doesn’t seem to go shirtless as often as Amell (stupid writers).
Amazon Studios has tapped iconic horror novelist and filmmaker Clive Barker to rewrite Zombies vs. Gladiators, a genre mash-up built around a Roman gladiator’s quest to defeat an history’s first ever zombie apocalypse.
Barker said:
I’m excited by the opportunity to interweave two very rich narrative threads. One of them concerns itself with the reality of the decadence of Rome and its rise and fall. The other is a fantastical narrative element—the living dead.
My brief to myself on this project is to give the audience not only zombies they have never seen before but also a Rome they have never seen before.
Barker, of course, is the author of such horror classics as “The Hellbound Heart,” the novella that inspired Hellraiser, “Damnnation Game,” “Weaveworld,” “The Thief of Always,” “Imagica,” “Cabal,” on which the 1990 film Nightbreed was based on and “The Books of Blood” anthologies.
On the big screen, he’s written, directed and/or produced the must-see frighteners Dread, Midnight Meat Train, Book of Blood, Lord of Illusions, Rawhead Rex, Nightbreed, Candyman and Hellraiser I-III.
Amazon Studios launched in November 2010. It is the movie producing arm of Amazon.com.
High School Musical alumna Ashley Tisdale is set to star in Dimension Films’ Scary Movie 5. Malcolm Lee (Undercover Brother) is attached to direct the horror-comedy from a script co-written by producer David Zucker (Airplane).
Scary Movie 5 goes into production this summer. Unlike previous entries in the series, which poked fun at a variety of horror movies, part five will only spoof Darren Aronofsky’s Oscar-nominated film Black Swan.
The first—and only funny—Scary Movie earned more than $270 million worldwide and helped launch Anna Faris‘ career. Since then the franchise has gone on to rake more than $750 million in global coin.
“Men of a Certain Age” star Brittany Curran has landed the lead in Conan director Marcus Nispel’s upcoming teen frightener Backmask. Curren will play one of six small town teens who uncover a mysterious warning while playing an old vinyl record backwards.
The synopsis reads:
During a sex, drugs, and rock-fueled party, six small-town teenagers find an old vinyl record and decide to play it backwards in order to listen for any subliminal/satanic messages.
A seemingly malevolent spirit quickly infiltrates the group, wreaking havoc as it moves from one body to another.
Eventually, however, it’s revealed that the spirit in question is actually trying to convey a message… and that the real source of horror isn’t particularly paranormal, but rather something (or someone) much closer to home.
Backmask costars “Teen Wolf’s” Gage Golightly and is written by Kristen Elms (Banshee). According to DailyDead.com, which broke the news, cameras are set to roll on the project this month in Rhode Island.
Curran will next be seen in Captured, a thriller that follows a serial killer as he stalks and kills members of a rock band shooting a music video during a getaway.
Porn star Sophie Dee is making her horror movie debut in director Creep Creepersin’s Cannibal Blood Girl, one of five short films featured in the Psykik Junky Pictures upcoming anthology Theater of the Deranged.
The 28-year-old Welsh babe plays a cannibal in the London set production that is being described as “Carrie-esque.” The film arrives on DVD on July 24 and costars Penthouse Pet and porn star/screm queen Veronica Ricci.
Gotta say that the film, though gory looking, doesn’t sound nearly as terrifying as some of Dee’s previous works, namely 10 Man Cum Slam 15, Clean My Ass 2 and Ball Busting Porn Stars: Cock Biting.
Swedish stunner Katia Winter has landed a recurring role on season seven of Showtime’s award-winning serial killer drama “Dexter.” The 24-year-old will play a Russian stripper working at a Miami gentlemen’s club.
According to TVLine.com, Winter joins a cast of newbies that includes Ray Stevenson as an Eastern European crime syndicate member visiting Miami to avenge the death of an associate and Jason Gedrick as the owner of the nudie bar where Winter’s character shakes her money-maker.
Winter is coming off the Sam Jackson and Nina Dobrev sci-fi actioner Arena. She will next be seen in The Stranger Inside with I Spit On Your Grave starlet Sara Butler and The Banshee Chapter, a drug-thriller from actor Zachary Quinto’s new production shingle Before the Door.
Gillian Anderson sightings are about as rare as UFOs these days. The “X-Files” star has been churning out boring, unwatchable fare after boring, unwatchable fare. Even her last “X-Files” movie blew little green dicks.
But, now, Anderson is back in a sci-fi project people may see: I’ll Follow You Down. The Richie Mehta-directed thriller follows a young man named Erol and his grandfather as they make a shocking discovery about the mysterious disappearance of Erol’s scientist father.
Anderson will play Erol’s mother Marika. She joins a cast that includes Haley Joel Osment (Sixth Sense) as Erol, Rufus Sewell(Dark City) as his father Gabriel and Victor Garber(“Alias”) as his grandfather.
