Kiefer Sutherland in Talks to ‘Growl’ with Katee Sackhoff!

Kiefer Sutherland is in talks to join his “24” costar Katee Sackhoff (“Battlestar Galactica”) in director Sxv’leithan Essex’s (pronounced: douche-bag) feature film debut Growl.

The film revolves around a group of underground brawlers who meet their match when they encounter a family of werewolves while traveling through a ghost town in the Colorado Rockies.

Essex explains to ShockTillYouDrop:

It’s Fight Club versus werewolves. Two of my favorite things thrown in the ring to see what will come out alive.

But what I love most about it is its completely character driven. I started writing and wanting to direct after seeing Aliens in theaters and how James Cameron made you care about the characters who would eventually be in peril.

I love the characters in Growl like they are my family and it sucks to have to kill some of them off. But they do die some glorious deaths.

Growl is currently shooting in Los Angeles. The film costars Jennifer Lee Wiggins (Bled), Josh Kelly (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen), Paul Bean, and Mark Sherman.

Sutherland, meanwhile, is wrapping up director Lars Von Trier’s (Antichrist) end-of-the-world sci-fi thriller Melancholia with costar Kirsten Dunst.

The 43-year-old actor’s notable genre creds include Alex Proyas’ surreal sci-fi-thriller Dark City, Alexandre Aja’s Mirrors, D.J. Caruso’s Taking Lives, the 1993 remake of The Vanishing, and, of course, Joel Schumacher’s 1987 vampire classic The Lost Boys.

Sutherland also turns in a memorably deranged performance in Mathew Bright’s twisted Little Red Riding Hood re-imagining entitled Freeway (a must-see).
