The complete movie lineup for the 19th annual Screamfest Horror Film Festival has been announced and tickets are available here. Running Oct. 8 – Oct. 17 at the TCL Chinese 6 Theater in Los Angeles, the event will see the premiere of a variety of features and shorts from around the world.
Among the U.S. premieres are Rabid, a remake of David Cronenberg’s 1977 classic by horror queens Jen and Sylvia Soska (American Mary), starring Laura Vandervoort as an accident victim suffering horrific side effects after experimental surgery, and Trick, a Halloween-based thriller from Drive Angry and My Bloody Valentine (2009) director Patrick Lussier.
West coast premieres include Lucky McKee’s Kindred Spirits, starring Thora Birch (American Beauty) as a milf tormented by the unexpected arrival of her demented sister, Wounds with Dakota Johnson (5o Shades of Grey) and Armie Hammer (Lone Ranger) as a couple who get hung up on a mysterious smart phone, and We Summon the Darkness, featuring Alexandria Daddario (“True Detective”) as a top-heavy headbanger up against satanists in Marc Meyers’ (My Friend Dahmer) new thriller.
Screamfest is the biggest and longest running horror film festival in the U.S. The show is a star-studded event where filmmakers, actors, and fans meet to celebrate and discuss horror and genre.
