Prime Originals has released a trailer for Mike Flanagan’s modern-day reboot of Stephen King’s 1974 debut novel, “Carrie.” Set in the social media age, the eight-episode series follows bullied high school student Carrie White as she reaches her breaking point, premiering Oct. 7.

Summer H. Howell beat out a reported 1,500 actresses to play the telekinetic misfit. Only 22, the starlet has already built up a scream queen resume, beginning with her 2013 feature film debut, Curse of Chucky. She returned for Cult of Chucky in 2017 and followed that up with notable serial killer flicks Hunter Hunter and last year’s Night of the Reaper.

No doubt she’s got the chops to play the role, but shouldn’t she have gained some 80lbs and have braces and stringy hair or, at the very least, wear some glasses ala She’s All That? This Carrie is just too cute. And her name is Summer. Howell’s Carrie would own that school.
