Taryn Manning & Monica Keena Go Nude in ‘Manson Girls’

taryn_manning_topless

Got some news that will give you the hippie hippie shakes! Looks like sex and nudity will be a big part of Junction Films’ soon-to-start-shooting bio-pic Manson Girls. So reveals director Sussana Lo in her interview with stars Taryn Manning (8 Mile) and Monica Keena (Night of the Demons), posted on StayThirtsy.com.

In the interview, Manning and Keena, who play Charles Manson cult followers Sandra Good and Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme, respectively, assure the director that the sex and nudity to be shot in Manson Girls is not gratuitous and will—in all actuality—cure cancer, save whales, and feed a Haitian family of five for three weeks (what? I’m reading between the lines).

Says Manning:

I personally don’t have any issues with sex and nudity in art if its done in a manner which respects the female anatomy and sheds the most beautiful light on the species of the lady. I think the nudity required in Manson Girls is needed to tell an accurate story of how these people lived everyday lives, full of love and open hearts and minds.

Beautiful light has been respectfully shed on Manning’s anatomy many times before, most notably in 2003’s American Civil War drama Cold Mountain and 2005’s pimptastic Hustle & Flow. Keena, however, has managed to pay her rent without dropping trou. Thankfully, it appears that she has chosen Lo’s film to make her nude debut.

Says Keena:

Sex is a necessary part of this story. As is the nudity aspect of it. And no, I don’t think they will be shot in a gratuitous fashion. I’ve never done a sex scene or nudity in a film before, and I’ve always said I never would unless the movie was absolutely brilliant and the story really called for it and was necessary to move the piece along and was not shot in a gratuitous way. So there is your proof.

I don’t know about you folks, but I think Keena is a 100% correct. I always have trouble following a film’s story when there isn’t any nudity to help it move along (usually because I’m thinking ‘where the titties at’ shortly after the opening creds roll).

Manson Girls follows the lives of eight violent female Charles Manson cult followers. The film costars Heather Matarazzo (Hostel 2), Tania Raymonde (“LOST”), Brit Morgan (“True Blood”), Gillian Zinser (“90210”), Jennifer Landon (“As the World Turns”), Estella Warren (Planet of the Apes), Stella Maeve (“My Super Psycho Sweet 16: Part 2″), Laura Harring (One Missed Call), and Bill Moseley as Charlie Manson.

Manson Girls is slated to start production next month in Los Angeles.

Rachel Hunter Reeled In for Syfy’s ‘Piranhaconda’

Rachel_Hunter

Syfy has announced that former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Rachel Hunter will put her bikini wearing skills to the test in their new Roger Corman-produced creature-feature Piranhaconda. The 41-year-old stunner will play Thalia, a character the filmmakers tease as a departure from the “good girl” roles Hunter has played in the past.

Piranhaconda revolves around a mutant piranha/anaconda monster out to devour a beachside community. The silly thriller is directed by Jim Wynorski—the man behind Traci Lords 1988 classic sci-fi vehicle Not of This Earth—and costars Michael Madsen (The Bleeding), Diana Terranova (8213 Gacy House), Terri Ivens (“All My Children”), and former Miss USA Shandi Finnessey.

Piranhaconda is set to roll camera this month on the Hawaiian island of Kauai.

Amanda-Seyfried-RRH-Premiere

Warner Bros. held the premiere for director Catherine Hardwicke’s Red Riding Hood last night at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, CA. Unfortunately, I could not attend as I was not invited and have yet to get over my fear of black security guards.

Hardwicke was joined at the shindig by star Amanda Seyfried, who—despite showing off some nice gams—disappointed with her decision to wear a magenta origami pleated silk cap-sleeve Lanvin dress (snap!). Also in attendance were costars Gary Oldman, Shiloh Fernandez, Virgina Madsen, and Max Irons.

Other celebs spotted at the event included the very sexy Rebecca De Mornay, who is soon to make a much-welcomed comeback in Darren Lynn Bousman’s Mother’s Day, Twilight’s Nikki Reed, A Nightmare On Elm Street’s Thomas Dekker, and Sucker Punch starlet Emily Browning.

meredith-hagner-awakening

The CW has named Meredith Hagner (pictured above) and Lucy Griffiths as the stars of their new coming-of-age, teen zombie apocalypse series “The Awakening.” Griffiths and Hagner will play sisters who realize that their not-so fresh feelings may have something to do with the walking dead around them.

Hagner currently stars on F/X’s soon-to-be KOed boxing drama “Lights Out,” but is best know for her recurring role as cyberchondriac Libby on the USA network’s “Royal Pains” and her two-year stint as Liberty Ciccone on the CBS soap “As the World Turns.”

Griffiths is coming off the BBC’s “Robin Hood” program in which she played Lady Marion of Leaford.

TV veteran David Von Ancken (“The Vampire Diaries”) will direct the pilot episode of “The Awakening” from a script by Bill Laurin and Glenn Davis. Shooting is already underway in Toronto.

Adelaide-Clemens-Silent-Hill-Revelation

Producers Samuel Hadida and Don Carmody (Resident Evil: Afterlife) announced today that production has begun on the long-awaited sequel to their 2006 sleeper hit Silent Hill. Entitled Silent Hill: Revelation, the 3-D film is being shot in Toronto by director Michael J. Basset.

The duo also revealed that Australian actress Adelaide Clemens (pictured above in first SH:R photo), best known for her roles in Wolverine and the indie bloodsucker drama Vampire, will headline the film along with “Game of Thrones” actor Kit Harington.

Carmody says (via press release):

Adelaide is breaking out of the indie world with commercial features such as X-Men and the indie-upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road. She and Kit are emerging young talent, and their chemistry and dynamics make them a brilliant addition to the Silent Hill team.

The original Silent Hill, directed by Christophe Gans and penned by Roger Avary, has earned over $99 million worldwide and over $22 million in U.S. DVD sales. The film starred Aussie actress Radha Mitchell and Sean Bean.

Radha Mitchell made the cut in Clatto’s list of The 20 Hottest Women Working in Horror/Sci-fi Today.

tabrett-bethell-poe

“Legend of the Seeker” star Tabrett Bethell is trading in her leather for a corset to play a character named Sarah in the pilot for ABC’s “Poe,” a 19th-century based crime procedural that reintroduces famed horror author Edgar Allan Poe as the world’s first detective.

Bethall, who played witty warrior babe Cara on the ABC Studios fantasy series “Legend of the Seeker” during its two-year run (the show was canceled last April), is a former fashion model and rugby cheerleader in Australia. As of now, there’s no background on the 29-year-old shelia’s character.

Set in 1840’s Boston, “Poe” will present cases inspired by the goth master’s work—played by 26-year-old Aussie actor Chris Egan, best known for his roles on Resident Evil: Extinction and the dragon-fantasy Eragon. Alex Graves (“Journeyman”) will direct the Warner Bros. produced pilot from a script by TV writer Christopher Hollier.

The pilot is slated to shoot in Toronto on March 14.

tricia-helfer-semi-nude

“Battlestar Galactica” babe Tricia Helfer may be heading back to the small screen full-time. The 5-foot-11, 36-year-old looker has been cast in a new NBC supernatural cop-show pilot entitled “17th Precinct.” Produced by “BSG” showrunner Ron Moore, the series follows a group of police officers in the fictional town of Exelsior as they fight and solve crimes rooted in magic and the paranormal.

Helfer, who played sexy Cylon Number Six on “BSG,” stars as Morgana, a necromancer who aids the 17th precinct by communicating with the dead. Her costars include Eamonn Walker (Unbreakable), Stockard Channing (Practical Magic), and “BSG” alumni Jaime Bamber and James Callis.

Helfer’s last genre role was opposite “True Blood’s” Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer in Lionsgate’s straight-to-DVD home-invasion thriller Open House. She also starred as a sexy assassin in The Black Keys grindhouse-y muisc video for their hit single “Howlin’ for You.”

Rachel Nichols Will Catfight Rose McGowen in ‘Conan’ Reboot!

Rachel-Nichols-Sexy

Maine-born actress and Clatto favorite Rachel Nichols recently spoke with PopWrap about her new gig on the long-running CBS crime show “Criminal Minds” and her role as warrior Tamara in Lionsgate’s upcoming Conan reboot. The 31-year-old stunner says nice things about her new TV show and its cast, but the big reveal involves her Conan costar Rose McGowan.

She says:

[Rose McGowan] is Marique—the bad girl to my good girl. We have a fight scene and she is after my blood. Let me tell you, her make-up is unreal. I mean, Rose is barely recognizable under all these prosthetics. It’s quite cool.

No disrespect to the very hot McGowan, but I’m pretty sure she’s been wearing those “prosthetics” long before Conan. But, I digress. Me likes cat-fight between barbarian babes Nichols and McGowan. Me buy ticket opening day.

Nichols also spills about Conan lead Jason Momoa and what she says would make most male moviegoers feel a little insecure about their bodies (bet you’re glad you don’t have a girlfriend now).

She says:

He’s a large individual. I’m just shy of 5’ 10” and I still felt dwarfed by him. My dad is 6’ 6” but Jason is massive – which was nice because you could go anywhere with him and no one would screw with you, which is helpful since we were filming in Bulgaria.

Nichols creds include Platinum Dunes 2005 Amityville Horror remake, Summit Entertainment’s underrated P2 thriller (her first starring role), and 2009’s blockbuster G.I. Joe. She also held a memorable role as black-ops agent Rachel Gibson on the final season of J.J. Abrams’ “Alias.”

Conan muscles its way into theaters on Aug. 19.

ashley_greene__rachelle_lefevre-sexy Looks like Twilight Saga star Rachelle Lefevre (pictured above in white) and “True Blood’s” Stephen Moyer have rung up interest in director Matthew Parkhill’s new supernatural thriller The Caller. North American rights for the film have been picked up by Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions.

Peep it:

The official synopsis reads:

When troubled divorcee Mary Kee (Lefevre) begins to receive mysterious phone calls from an unknown caller, she quickly begins to feel haunted in her own home. When she discovers that the person is calling from the past, Mary realizes that she will have to kill her in order to survive, but how do you kill someone living in the past, and what will happen if she fails?

Man, once you’re on a telemarketers list, you’re really screwed. The Caller costars Luis Guzman (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island), Lorna Rayer (Drag Me to Hell), Ed Quinn (“Eureka”), and Marise Alvarez (Che).

madison-county-poster

Natalie Scheetz, Katie Stegeman, and Joanna Sotomura make their feature film debuts in 22-year-old director Eric England’s indie-slasher Madison County. My inability to surf the web without stopping to sign up for interracial sex sites at every pop-up kept me from digging up any info on the girls, but they are hot and do a damn good job of screaming.

Budgeted at around $75,000, Madison County follows five college kids as they investigate the small mountain town’s history of grisly murders at the hands of one Damien Ewell. England describes his film on his blog this way:

I wanted to tell a very classic story and take it back to the roots. The same way Ti West did with House of the Devil. I wanted to make a movie that I would like to see.

Is there a place for big tits and tons of over the top gore? Yeah.. but not in Madison County. This is a raw, gritty, very real type of film.

We’re pushing for a THEATRICAL RELEASE. The characters in this film have a voice, and a purpose, and just when you think they’re cliched.. they’re not.

I’m going to forgive England’s dismissal of big tits this one time because the trailer looks pretty fucking sweet (peep it below).

Madison County costars Ace Marrero, Colley Bailey, Adrienne Harrell, Matt Mercer, and Laid to Rest’s resident killer Nick Principe as Damien Ewell.
