New Line Cinema has released a first trailer for Conjuring spinoff The Nun, starring Taissa Farmiga (”American Horror Story”), Demian Bichir (”The Bridge”), and Bonnie Aarons, reprising her role as the creepy Marilyn Manson-looking nun.
Set in 1950s Romania, a tormented old priest and exorcist (Bichir) and a novitiate on the cusp of completing her final vows are sent by the Vatican to a remote abbey to investigate the mysterious suicide of young nun. What they uncover is all sorts of unholiness.
Twentieth Century Fox has released a new trailer for The Predator, a reboot of the popular franchise first introduced in 1987 as an Arnold Schwarzenegger sci-fi actioner. Shane Black (Iron Man 3) directs from a script he co-wrote with Monster Squad writer/director Fred Dekker.
The new footage shows off the Predators and a shitload of action, but not nearly enough Olivia Munn! The whole thing is looking like one big sausage-fest!
Predator stars action hero Thomas Jane (The Punisher), comedian Keegan-Michael Key, Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight), Alfie Allen (”Game of Thrones”), geek goddess Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse) as a sexy scientist, and Yvonne Strahovski (”Dexter”) as the hot MILF whose stupid kid brings about the alien hunters.
Sony Pictures has released the first official trailer for The Girl in the Spider’s Web, a new volume in late Swedish author Stieg Larsson’s Millennium series – made popular by its first novel, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.” The film introduces Claire Foy (“The Crown”) as disturbed vigilante/hacker Lisbeth Salander.
The new Lisbeth is the ugliest version yet, stripped of all sex appeal and resembling Edward Scissorhands. Fede Alvarez, director of exceptional fright flicks Don’t Breathe and 2013’s Evil Dead remake, is at the helm
“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” is the first book in what is collectively known as the Millennium Trilogy, novels by late Swedish author Stieg Larsson. They have sold more than 40 million copies worldwide. Larrson, a journalist and political activist, died of a heart attack at the age 50 in 2004. According to his longtime live-in girlfriend Eva Gabrielsson, he left behind pages to his unfinished fourth book in the series.
“The Girl in the Spider’s Web” is not based on those pages, but instead written by David Lagercrantz with the Larsson’s estate’s support. Gabrielsson calls Lagercrantz an “idiotic choice” for carrying on the book series.
The Ugly Girl in the Spider’s Web arrives in theaters Nov. 9.
Amanda Seyfried, fresh off her nude role in Andrew Niccol’s arty sci-fi thriller Anon, is set to star opposite Kevin Bacon in You Should Have Left, a supernatural thriller adapted from Daniel Kehlmann’s novel by director David Koepp (Stir of Echos) for Blumhouse.
You Should Have Left stars Bacon as a screenwriter attempting to write a sequel to his blockbuster film while holed up in a house in the Alps with his hot, young wife and their six-year-old kid. As if a hot, young wife and kid weren’t distraction enough, spooky unexplained shit starts to happen too.
Seyfried, of course, plays Bacon’s hot, young wife. Too early to know if she’s a hot, young nude wife — though the novel might give us some clues and by novel we mean Cliff Notes, otherwise we’ll just wait to see what Mr. Skin says.

Universal Pictures has released the first official trailer for the Blumhouse reboot of John Carpenter’s Halloween. David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express) is at the helm and co-writes with longtime collaborator and actor Danny McBride (”Eastbound & Down”).
Halloween creator John Carpenter is an executive producer on the film and Jamie Lee Curtis reprises her role as iconic final girl Laurie Strode. Judy Greer (War for the Planet of the Apes) plays Strode’s daughter, Karen, and Andi Matichak (”666 Park Avenue”) is her hot granddaughter, Allyson.
The new film is set 40 years after the events of the original and find Michael Myers escaping the asylum and returning to the small town where he massacred Strode’s friends on Halloween night. One twist… he’s not Strode’s brother. Not sure how we feel about that, but fuck it — can’t be worse than Rob Zombie’s takes!
Paramount Pictures has released a first trailer for its eagerly anticipated Transformers spinoff Bumblebee — the Autobot good guy that transforms into a yellow VW bug. Hailee Steinfeld stars in the film as a hot coming of age teen whose would-be Herbie adventure is more than meets the eye!
Steinfeld first caught movie audiences attention with her Oscar nominated role in the Western remake True Grit at the age of 13. Roles in the tween sci-fi actioner Ender’s Game, the highly underrated hitman thriller 3 Days to Kill, and musical comedies Pitch Perfect 2 and 3 followed.
Amazon Studios has release a trailer for Suspiria, a remake of Dario Argento’s 1977 classic by director Luca Guadagnino (A Bigger Splash) and writer David Kajganich (The Invasion), starring Dakota Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz, Tilda Swinton, and Jessica Harper, who topped the original.
Johnson takes the lead in the remake as Suzy Bannion, an American ballet dancer caught in a grisly murder spree at a prestigious dance academy in Europe that serves as a cover for something supernatural and sinister. The film is slated for release Nov. 2.
Kate Bosworth returns to horror with Orion Classics post apocalyptic thriller The Domestics, set to release in selcted theaters June 28 and VOD June 29. The film is written and directed by Mike P. Nelson and co-stars Tyler Hoechlin (“Teen Wolf”).
Bosworth and Hoechlin play a married couple desperately searching for safe haven across a lawless and apocalyptic landscape littered with homicidal gangs warring against each other and victimizing the helpless. Judging by the film’s first released image, Bosworth’s perky nipples raise the stakes on survival!
Bosworth is coming off the creepy kid thriller Before I Wake and amnesia thriller Amnesiac. Notable horror turns include the girl-power, cat-and-mouse thriller Black Rock and Straw Dogs, a remake of Sam Peckinpah’s controversial 1971 home-invasion drama about a married couple terrorized by rape-happy rapscallions in the London countryside.
Sarah Shahi (“Person of Interest”) stars in the new NBC sci-fi series, Reverie. The show premiered this week to disappointing ratings, suggesting it may be time to get Shahi in a bikini and/or lesbian scene to prevent cancellation — you can never act too soon, people’s jobs are on the line!
Shahi plays a former hostage negotiator-turned-college professor hired for her expertise in human behavior to bring people back from a cutting-edge and extremely addicting virtual reality program designed to help them escape their shitty lives. Those who don’t return risk said shitty lives.
Shahi is best known as brooding, bisexual government assassin Dr. Sameen Shaw on the CBS police procedural and AI sci-fi drama “Person of Interest” and sexy lesbian DJ Carmen de la Pica Morales on Showtimes’ “The L Word.”
