Gina Carano to Spread Her Wings as Fallen Angel ‘Avengelyne’

gina-carano-nude-butt

Action star and former MMA fighter Gina Carano is teaming up with “Avengelyne” creator Rob Liefeld to produce a film adaptation of the 1995 comic for Carano to topline as the fallen angel cast to battle demons on earth as punishment for questioning God’s love of humans and because he’s kind of a stinker that way.

According to THR, the project will be in the vein of Sony Screen Gems’ Underworld franchise, starring Kate Beckinsale. Carano and Liefeld are set to look for a writer or a writer-director next week.

Carano made her acting debut in Steven Soderbergh’s star-studded 2011 action-drama Haywire. She co-stars alongside Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez in this year’s Fast & Furious 6 and will next be seen in Turistas director John Stockwell’s island-terror thriller In the Blood.

The 2013 Emmy nominations were announced this morning and surprisingly did not completely suck donkey dicks for horror. While “The Walking Dead” was inexplicably snubbed, Ryan Murphy’s FX series “American Horror Story: Asylum” and HBO’s “Game of Thrones” got some proper recognition.

AMC’s “Bates Motel” also scored a very much deserved nom for Vera Farmiga in the Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Norma Bates, mom to serial killer in-the-making Norman Bates, played by Freddie Highmore, who also should have been up for an award.

Anyhow, the nominees (and their competition) are:

Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries or Movie: Steven Soderbergh (Behind The Candelabra), Julian Jarrold (The Girl), David Mamet (Phil Spector), Allison Anders (Ring Of Fire), Garth Davis and Jane Campion (Top Of The Lake • Part 5).

Why do I get the nasty feeling that “Downtown Abby” is going to win all?
