TV actress Olga Fonda (“Entourage,” “Nip/Tuck”) has been cast in DreamWorks’ upcoming sci-fi-actioner (and terribly named) Real Steel. She joins a cast that include Hugh Jackman, Evangeline Lily, Anthony Mackie, Hope Davis, James Rebhorn, and Kevin Durand.
Real Steel stars Hugh Jackman as a former boxer-turned-fight-promoter who reunites with his estranged 11-year-old son to build a robot to compete in a robot-boxing tournament. The film is set in the future where human boxing matches are no longer legal and have been replaced by combating machines.
No word on what role Fonda plays, but the film is one of two high-profile projects for the sexy upstart (Little Fockers is the other).
Real Steel is directed by Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum). It swings into theaters on Nov. 18, 2011.
I’m getting the feeling that Transformers 3 is going to look like an underwear commercial with Chevy trucks. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Maybe even Labeouf will like this entry in the blockbuster franchise.
Say whatcha will about Tom Cruise, but the couch-hopping, Scientology-loving, non-aging megastar stole Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., and Jack Black’s (Tropic) Thunder in 2008. Now, he’s reprising the role of foul-mouthed Hollywood mogul Les Grossman in a series of MTV Movie Awards promos.
The latest spot finds Grossman spitting mad truth to Twilight Saga star Robert Pattinson in regards to his grooming.

The 2010 MTV Movie Awards air on Sunday, June 6 (check local listings for times).
