‘Surveillence’ Starlet Pell James Finds ‘Dark Circles’

pell-james-sexy-dark-circles

Pell James is set to star in Dark Circles, the first announced frightener for 2012 from After Dark Originals. She joins a cast that includes Jonathan Schaech (ChromeSkull: Laid to Rest 2), Philippe Brenninkmeyer (Beerfest), Michael Patrick Rogers (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3-D) and Andrea Frankle (The Haunting in Georgia).

The film’s synopsis reads:

Urbanites Alex and Penny escape their stuffy city life to raise their newborn in the country. Instead, they find their spacious farmhome harbors horrors that threaten their relationship, imperil their son, and drive them to acts that neither believed they were capable of, but both are powerless to stop.

Horror fans may recognize James as stab victim Cecelia Shepard in David Fincher’s snorefest Zodiac and as sexy coke-head Bobbi in Jennifer Lynch’s superb serial-killer thriller Surveillance. The 34-year-old starlet also appeared in the popular cult comedy Fanboys.

Paul Soter (of moderately humorous comedy troupe Broken Lizard … ok, they suck) is attached to direct Dark Circles.

Ben Barnes Is Gonna Hurt ‘Seventh Son’ Author’s Feelings!

Ben-Barnes-7th-Son

Having starred as Prince Caspian in Walden Media’s Chronicles of Narnia films Prince Caspian and Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Ben Barnes may know a thing or two about adapting literary works for the big screen … or not. Either way, the 30-year-old British actor is talking about his next book-based fantasy adventure The Seventh Son.

He tells ComingSoon:

It’s nothing like the first book really. I don’t think it’s particularly like ‘The Hunger Games’ or ‘Twilight’ where you can go ‘based on the books,’ because I don’t think this series is as popular yet, so I think there’s a chance to rewrite and make the best movie for the movie’s sake.

I think sometimes when you stick exactly to the book, there’s a danger of it becoming a bit literary, so I think visually they want to make the most exciting film so they’ve changed a lot.

My character in the book is 13 or something, but then the romance element in the book doesn’t really make any sense – it makes more sense to have those characters a little older.

Some of the story in the first book is very static so this is going to be a lot more visual and action-oriented.

The Seventh Son is based on young-adult novelist Joseph Delaney’s “The Wardstone Chronicles,” the first volume in his book series “The Last Apprentice.” Barnes plays Tom Ward, a young man training to be an exorcist in the 1700’s under the tutelage of Master Gregory, aka Spook (Jeff Bridges). Julianne Moore stars as the evil witch Mother Malkin.

Sergei Bodrov directs the Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ production, now shooting in Vancouver.
