‘Dollhouse’ Active Dichen Lachman Will Try ‘Being Human’

Dichen-Lachman-Being-Human

“Dollhouse” star Dichen Lachman has been cast for the second season of the Syfy supernatural series “Being Human.” The 29-year-old Australian-Tibetan looker will play a centuries old royal vampire named Izumi.

“Being Human” centers on a trio of supernatural entities living together in a Boston loft. Every week a misunderstanding makes their landlord, Mr. Furley, believe that they are all having sex. The series stars Meaghan Rath as ghost Sally Malik, Sam Huntington as werewolf Josh Radcliffe, and Sam Witwer as vampire Aidan McCollin.

Lachman, whose Tibetan name translates to “big sin,” is best known for her portrayal of active Sierra on the Joss Whedon-produced sci-fi series “Dollhouse.” Additional creds include the Syfy monster movie Aztec Rex, the vampire thriller Bled, and an upcoming appearance on Starz’ new series “Torchwood: Miracle Day.”

Production on season two of “Being Human” is set to begin soon in Montreal.

Danielle-Panabaker-no-nudes

Dimension Films’ Piranha 3-DD, the first sequel to Alexandre Aja’s well-reviewed-but-dead-in-the-water Piranha 3-D, will surface in theaters across the country on Nov. 23. Directed by John Gulager (Feast), the film promises buckets of gore, gross-out humor, and gratuitous amounts of female nudity.

Danielle Panabaker is toplining the fish-&-chicks frightener, but those expecting to see the 23-year-old babe’s lures will be sorely disappointed. The selfish star of such films as The Crazies, Friday the 13th, and The Ward is all-tease-and-no-please in the otherwise raunchy flick.

Asked if she goes nude, she tells Fearnet:

No. Absolutely not. I do spend a fair amount of the movie in my bikini, though.

Thankfully, Hollywood is filled with selfless actresses not spoiled by success who know that their naked bodies can only elevate the artistic merit of any given project. A few of these angels apparently pick up Danielle Prudishbaker’s slack.

She says:

The movie takes place in a water park. My character’s step-father owns the park, and she is coming to work there over the summer. And fishy things start to happen!

There is lots of T&A. From my first scene, there is a lot of that going on, and it just continues throughout. It will not disappoint.

Piranha 3-DD costars Katrina Bowden (“30 Rock”), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), David Hasselhoff (“Baywatch”), Gary Busey (Predator 2), Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction), Meagan Tandy (Unstoppable), Chris Zylka (Shark Night 3-D), David Koechner (Final Destination 5), and a bevy of nameless, top-heavy starlets.

Danielle Panabaker made Clatto’s list of The 20 Hottest Women Working in Horror/Sci-fi Today.

‘The Three Musketeers’ As It Should Have Been Written!

THE THREE MUSKETEERS 3D

When I first heard of director Paul W.S. Anderson’s (Resident Evil: Afterlife) big-screen re-imagining of French author Alexandre Dumas’ beloved adventure novel “The Three Musketeers,” I mistakenly figured it would be an action film and not Clatto material.

Well, imagine my surprise when I peeped Summit Entertainment’s trailer for the new Anderson 3-D re-do and discovered that our 17th century heroes Athos, Porthos, and Aramis lived during a time of sophisticated gadgetry and flying buccaneer ships!

Check it out:

Really … it just goes to show that our school system in the U.S. blows. I can only wonder what other works of literature were tampered with by our educators. If I find out that Chaucer’s “Canterbury Tales” actually included a rogue band of illegal street racers on light-cycles, I’m gonna be pissed.

The Three Musketeers stars Matthew Macfadyen (Athos), Ray Stevenson (Porthos), Luke Evans (Aramis), Logan Lerman (D’Artagnan), Christoph Waltz (Cardinal Richelieu), Orlando Bloom (Duke of Buckingham), Juno Temple (Queen Anne) and Milla Jovovich (M’lady De Winter).

The film swings into theaters on Oct. 14.

Everybody Bang Chung Tonight: Jamie Chung Cast as Hooker in ‘Eden’

jamie-chung-bikini-hot

Sucker Punch starlet Jamie Chung is set to topline director Megan Griffiths’ (The Off Hours) human trafficking drama Eden. The 28-year-old stunner will play an abducted Korean-American girl who is sold into prostitution for two years, during which time she gains influence over her captors through manipulation.

Though frightening in concept, the based-on-a-true-story film is most likely to play out as a drama so you can probably forget about seeing a half-naked Chung unloading shotgun rounds into sleazy redneck crotches. But, don’t lose hope: Hooker + indie-drama = sad girl nudity.

Chung’s genre creds include the 2009 remake Sorority Row, Dragonball Evolution (based on the Japanese Dragon Ball magna), and the indie-anthology Burning Palms, in which she played a girl tormented by the phantom smell of shit after begrudgingly fingering her boyfriend’s asshole upon his request.

Eden is slated to shoot in Seattle and eastern Washington in August.

Sara Paxton’s Bikini Reminds Us Why We Need to Catch ‘Shark Night 3-D’

sara-paxton-ass-shark-night-3d

Rogue Pictures upcoming frightener Shark Night 3-D may be a PG-13 affair, but that’s not stopping the studio from baiting moviegoers with promo stills of bikini clad stars Sara Paxton (Last House on the Left), Alyssa Diaz (Red Dawn), and former “American Idol’ runner-up Katharine McPhee.

The film’s synopsis reads:

Arriving by boat at her family’s Louisiana lake island cabin, Sara (Paxton) and her friends quickly strip down to their swimsuits for a weekend of fun in the sun. But when star football player Malik (Sinqua Walls) stumbles from the salt-water lake with his arm torn off, the party mood quickly evaporates.

Assuming the injury was caused by a freak wake-boarding accident, the group realizes they have to get Malik to a hospital on the other side of the lake, and fast. But as they set out in a tiny speedboat, the college friends discover the lake has been stocked with hundreds of massive, flesh-eating sharks!

As they face one grisly death after another, Sara and the others struggle desperately to fend off the sharks, get help and stay alive long enough to reach the safety of dry land.

Shark Night 3-D is directed by David R. Ellis (The Final Destination 3-D) and costars Chris Carmack (The Butterfly Effect 3), Joel David Moore (Avatar), Dustin Milligan (The Messengers) and Sinqua Walls (Savage County).

Sara Paxton is part of Clatto’s list of The 20 Hottest Women Working in Horror/Sci-fi Today.

Shark Night 3-D is in theaters on Sept. 2.

Bad Day for Brian Austin Green: Shia LaBeouf Admits to Sex with Megan Fox!

megan-fox-sex

Doing its part to promote Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Shia LaBeouf’s penis did an interview with Details in which it revealed that it totally hooked up with former costar Megan Fox and made a cuckold out of her then-boyfriend-now-husband Brian Austin Green.

Said LaBeouf’s penis:

Look, you’re on the set for six months, with someone who’s rooting to be attracted to you, and you’re rooting to be attracted to them. I never understood the separation of work and life in that situation. But the time I spent with Megan was our own thing, and I think you can see the chemistry onscreen.

When asked if Fox was involved with Green at the time, LaBeouf’s penis replied:

I don’t know, man. I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know . . . It was what it was.

Fox, who famously stated in a 2010 interview with Harper Bazaar that she had only bedded two guys in her life (Green and a childhood boyfriend), is gonna have a lot of explaining to do when she gets to the Peach Pit tonight.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon opens June 29 at midnight.

Xerxes Will Rise in ‘300’ Prequel ‘Battle of Artemisia’

xerxes-300-prequel

Legendary Pictures’ planned 300 prequel Xerxes has been retitled 300: Battle of Artemisia. Zach Snyder, who directed the original surprise blockbuster in 2007, now serves as producer. Directors being consider for the project include Noam Murro and Jaume Collet-Serra.

Murro is an award-winning commercials director whose feature film debut was the forgettable Sara Jessica Parker vehicle Smart People. The higher profiled Collet-Serra has helmed the films Unknown, Orphan, House of Wax, and the pilot episode for Oren Peli’s new ABC series “The River.”

300: Battle of Artemisia will follow Xerxes, who was portrayed by Rodrigo Santoro (“Lost”) in 300, after he succeeds his father Darius the Great as ruler of the Persian Empire in 486 BC, four years after the defeat at Marathon. The script is based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel and is written for the screen by Snyder and Kurt Johnstad.

Haley Joel Osment is Back to ‘Wake the Dead’

Wake-The-Dead

Haley Joel Osment is returning to the genre that helped score him an Oscar nomination in 2000. The now 23-year-old star of M. Night Shyamalan’s The Sixth Sense has signed on to headline Slasher Films’ Wake the Dead, a modern day retelling of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein story.

Osment will play the role of Victor Franklin, a college student attempting to raise the dead through a series of experiments. Jay Russell will serve as director on the project which is based on the graphic novel by Steve Niles.

Wake the Dead is just one of many Frankenstein adaptations being produced in tinsel town. While this one sounds pretty cool, I doubt it will come close to Frank Henenlotter’s genius take on the tale—the 1990 horror-comedy Frankenhooker.

T-Mobile Girl Carly Foulkes Gets Dialed Into ‘Powers’

T-Mobile-Girl-Bikini

Canadian model/actress Carly Foulkes is the pretty brunette currently seen across the country shilling T-Mobile’s myTouch 4G on TV and billboards. But, that may soon change. The leggy 5-foot-9, 22-year-old babe has scored her first major acting role on the FX superhero pilot “Powers.”

Show creator Brian Michael Bendis told the folks at Geektime radio on Sirius XM Howard 100 that Foulkes had been cast to play Retro Girl, the murdered heroine whose case is being investigated by “Powers” detectives Christian Walker (Jason Patric) and Deena Pilgrim (Lucy Punch).

Said Bendis:

A couple of weeks ago, we cast a woman named Carly Foulkes to be Retro Girl. You’re sitting there going, ‘Who’s that?’ That is the super, super cute T-Mobile girl.

The first arc details the death of Retro Girl, a popular and powerful super-heroine. Retro Girl is in fact a legacy of women – with or without powers – who are continuously reincarnated.

“Powers” is the name of the civilian police force assigned to investigating crimes involving people with super powers. The pilot, directed by Michael Dinner (”The Wonder Years”) and penned by Charles Eglee (”Dark Angel”), is based on the comic book series created by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming.

“Powers” is slated to go into production late next month in Chicago.
