Much like Obi-wan did with Luke and Leia, Elizabeth Olsen’s parents hid her from the world upon birth, letting her sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley build an empire of crappy kid fare and bad fashion, while Elizabeth honed her craft safely away from the limelight.
Elizabeth has since emerged as as a formidable actress, starring in the critically acclaimed indie-drama Martha Marcy May Marlene, Open Road’s American remake of the Uruguayan frightener Silent House and Rodrigo Cortes’ Red Lights, opposite Robert De Niro.
The 24-year-old will next be seen in Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla reboot and Spike Lee’s American remake of South Korean director Park Chan-wook’s classic revenge-thriller Oldboy, in which she goes nude (yes, everything you just read was to get to this point).
Alison Pill (“The Newsroom”) is co-starring in Cooties, a horror-comedy from producer Elijah Wood and screenwriters Leigh Whannell (SAW) and Ian Brennan (“Glee”). The film marks the feature film debut of directors Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion.
Cooties finds a group of elementary school teachers banding together to fight against a rabid student body infected by a mysterious virus. The film co-stars Rainn Wilson (“The Office”), Jack MacBrayer (“30 Rock”), Nasim Pedrad (“Saturday Night Live”) and Jorge Garcia (“LOST”).
Pill currently stars on HBO’s “The Newsroom” as News Night associate producer Margaret Jordan. Her genre creds include Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (she played Pilgrim’s drummer Kim Pine) and the upcoming sci-fi thriller Snowpiercer.
