Game On: New ‘SAW’ Film Set for Halloween 2017!

SAW-Jigsaw

Lionsgate is playing games again. The studio announced today it has set an Oct. 27, 2017 release date for its new entry in its record-breaking SAW franchise. Cameras roll Sept. 12 – Oct. 21 in Toronto with brother directing team Michael and Peter Spierig (Daybreakers) at the helm.

Named the Most Successful Horror Movie Series of all time by Guinness World Records in 2010, SAW spawned six sequels and earned more than $800 million worldwide. The film launched director James Wan’s career and gave horror one of its most memorable villains in Tobin Bell’s John “Jigsaw” Kramer.

No word on what exactly the new SAW film will have in store for us, but writing duties have gone to Piranha 3D and Sorority Row scribes Pete Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg. A lot of peeps are whining about SAW’s return, but we’re pumped and hope John Kramer and Amanda Young (Shawnee Smith) return somehow.
