Those who thought Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman was a missed opportunity for hot lesbian cosplay would be wise to check out Professor Marston and the Wonder Women, an origins story of the Wonder Woman character based on the true story of its creator and the women who inspired him: his wife and their lover.

Wonder Woman is the creation of William Moulton Marston, a psychologist and champion of women, who invented an early prototype of the lie detector when he created the systolic blood pressure test. His theories on bondage, dominance, and submission surfaced heavily in early Wonder Woman comics.

His wife Elizabeth was a major part of his research as was their lover Olive Byrne. Both women would also inspired Marston when he took to comic book writing and continued to live together long after he died.

Professor Marston and the Wonder Women tells their tale, providing insight into Wonder Woman’s affinity for rope and corsets and providing some of that lesbian heat courtesy of female leads Rebecca Hall and Bella Heathcote (pictured above). Sure, it’s lofty stuff full of artistic merit and whatnot, but it’s also Rebecca Hall and Bella Heathcote doing hot lesbian cosplay!
