Cuban stunner Ana De Armas (Knock Knock) has been tapped to play a fitness influencer in Sweat, a new thriller from J Blakeson (who could have called himself Jay instead of omitting the dot and making readers think I wrote a typo), director of The Disappearance of Alice Creed—featured as one of Clatto’s 10 Sexiest Horror Films of 2010.

Sweat, which feels like someone watched the Substance workout scenes and correctly figured that would make a good movie, stars Armas as an aspiring fitness influencer whose life spirals out of control when she teams up with an obsessive fan following a horrific encounter with her social media idol.

Armas, who is coming of the hit John Wick spinoff Ballerina, had her first breakout role in Rian Johnson’s 2019 mystery Knives Out, following it up as Bond Girl Paloma in 2021’s No Time to Die—007’s final mission. So gorgeous, she was cast to play an oft nude version of sex symbol icon Marilyn Monroe in Blonde, receiving a Best Actress nomination at the Academy Awards in 2023.
