A new trailer has gone online for Underworld: Blood Wars, the fifth installment in Screen Gems popular franchise pitting werewolves against vampires. Anna Foerster (“Outlander”) directs with Kate Beckinsale reprising her role as death dealer Selene.

Blood Wars introduces new powers to Selene, making her more lethal than ever. Beckinsale is in top, curvy form and watching her kick ass, run, and jump while flashing those enhanced icy blues is thrilling even if the story line has gotten a bit hard to follow.

Underworld: Blood Wars arrives in theaters Jan. 6, 2017.

Mila-Jovovich-Ali-Larter-Resident-Evil

Screen Gems has released a new trailer for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, the sixth entry in Paul W.S. Anderson’s blockbuster adaptation of the Capcom video game. Milla Jovovich toplines as Alice and Ali Larter returns as Claire Redfield, not seen since 2010’s RE: Afterlife.

The trailer is almost three minutes of Resident Evil stylized fun and an exciting promise for a satisfying end. New monsters are ugly and gruesome, Alice fight sequences whoa-inducing and sexy, and a peek at Claire Redfield thrilling. That “Paradise City” remix is still awful and distracting.

Picking up after the events of RE: Retribution, RE: The Final Chapter finds Alice returning to The Hive underground laboratory in Racoon City to fend off the Umbrella Corporation’s new attack against humanity’s survivors. Joined by new and old allies, she faces the undead and Umbrella’s army of mutant monsters.

Resident Evil: The final Chapter arrives in theaters January 27, 2017.

Can Kristen Stewart Sell You On ‘Personal Shopper’

kristen_stewart

IFC has released a new trailer for Personal Shopper, a ghost story from French filmmaker Olivier Assayas (Paris, je t’aime) and starring Kristen Stewart as a fancy-smancy personal shopper living in Paris and mourning the loss of her twin brother, who she believes will soon contact her from the afterlife.

Unfortunately, her brother is an asshole and proceeds to scare the shit out of her in the enormous house they once shared. Other than its nifty premise – to reach out from the grave when one of them died – there’s nothing too creepy or scary in the film’s trailer, and the director’s creds gives us pause.

Well… at least no one sparkles.

The limited-edition Blu-ray is chockful of features, including audio commentary and interviews with director Brian Yuzna and its gorgeous star Melinda Clarke.

Desperate and heartbroken, her boyfriend revives Julie with the same Trioxin gas used by his father to reanimate corpses in top-secret military experiments. He’s successful, but soon discovers that Julie is no longer as interested in giving head as she is in eating brains, a condition that causes her great grief.

Julie, however, soon learns that she can fight off her hunger pangs with physical pain, a fortuitous little trick that allows her to not eat her boyfriend. Unfortunately, the couple doesn’t get much time to rekindle their love affair as they are being chased by military officials and the homies of a hispanic gangbanger whose head Julie ate out like a taco salad.

Yes, this movie is fucking awesome (see where Melinda Clarke/Julie Walker ranks in Clatto’s list of The 11 Sexiest Maneating Babes).
