Summit Entertainment and actor Brad Pitt’s production studio Plan B are teaming up to resurrect the legend of Dracula. Vlad is written by “Sons of Anarchy” actor Charlie Hunnam and is said to be  more action-oriented than Summit’s current brooding-vampire franchise hit Twilight. Music video director Anthony Mandler is negotiations to direct.

Vlad bases its story on that of historical figure Vlad the Impaler, the prince of Wallachia, known for the sadistic torture and murder of his enemies. Horrific accounts of Vlad’s rule detail fields filled with the rotting bodies of men, women, and children impaled on tall wooden stakes. His notorious blood lust served as the inspiration for novelist Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

If done right, this movie could soon top the list of 15 Vampire Movies That Won’t Make You Gay.
