New footage from Anchor Bay’s unrated remake of director Meir Zarchi’s highly controversial 1978 revenge-thriller I Spit On Your Grave has hit the web. Entitled “Pretty Little Thing,” the clip teases the gang-rape festivities at hand.

Take a look:

Hmm. Looks like the old “my boyfriend will be here soon” line isn’t going to work here. Perhaps, if she had added, “and, he’s black,” things would have turned out different.

Directed by Steven R. Monroe, the I Spit On Your Grave remake stars newcomer Sarah Butler in the role of novelist Jennifer Hill, a gang-rape victim out to do terrible things to the penises of her assailants.

The film arrives in theaters on Oct. 8.

  1. Do you think it could beat the original movie? what horror genre remakes do you like Eddie?

  2. From what I hear, the new I Spit On Your Grave is pretty intense. I saw the original on VHS when I was like 11 and it warped my fragile young mind. I’m very much looking forward to the remake

Personally, I believe every old horror film deserves a remake. As much as I may love a film, it doesn’t hold up forever. I also find flicks from the ’70s unwatchable though I often like their stories.

Remakes that I feel were better than the originals (just asking for trouble aren’t I) include: Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Ring, Zach Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead, The Crazies, My Bloody Valentine 3-D, The Fly (though it needs another remake), The Thing (has another remake coming), Nightmare on Elm Street, and The Last House on the Left (the original sucked ass).

What about you, Jon. What remakes worked for ya? Which didn’t?
