A short—but gruesome—sales trailer for Screen Media Films sequel to Tobe Hooper’s 2003 slasher The Toolbox Murders has hit the web. Entitled TBK: The Toolbox Murders 2, the film marks the directorial debut of make-up artist Dean C. Jones (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides).

The film’s synopsis reads:

Survivors Nell and Stephen continue their night of hell as they’re rushed to the nearby Hollywood Memorial hospital. Meanwhile next-generation, tech-savvy CSI detectives Cole and Barnes coordinate with hard-nosed LAPD criminal profiler McGavin to exhume TBK’s modern day tomb and uncover its origins, leading toward a shocking revelation involving old Hollywood’s seedy underground and one doctor’s secret past.

TBK: The Toolbox Murders 2 was shot in Los Angeles and stars horror icon Lance Henriksen (Scream of the Banshee), Brian Krause (Camel Spiders), Ethan Phillips (The Island), Mila Brener, Bruce Dern (Choose), sexy up-and-comer Chauntal Lewis (pictured above) and Christopher Doyle, who returns as killer Coffin Baby.

In response to what has understandably become this year’s hot-button issue, NBC president Robert Greenblatt has announced that former “Friday Night Lights” hottie Adrianne Palicki will, indeed, wear star-spangled booty shorts in their David Kelly-produced reboot of yesteryear’s “Wonder Woman” series.

Greenblatt explains to TVLine:

There was an initial outcry about the long pants – you know, skintight pants as opposed to those little shorts. But the shorts were always planned. They are actually used in the final confrontation when she beats Veronica Cale.

We haven’t made any changes from what was planned. But it’s always good to hear the feedback. I’d rather have people really passionately engaged in conversation, even if they hate something, than be kind of bored.

Greenblatt, you beautiful genius! It all makes sense now. Wonder Woman will wear the shorts while having a sexy cat-fight with Veronica Cale—played by British stunner Elizabeth Hurley—someplace where there’s lots of mud or jello or pillows. It seems so obvious now. Well played.

You also got to hand it to writer/producer Kelly for keeping things real on the page. Wonder Woman is a female superhero. Unlike her male counterparts who don’t think twice about wearing the same spandex tights every night, Wonder Woman is going to have to have some fashion choices.

After all, there will be nights when she’s feeling bloated and unattractive. On those days, she’ll wear the pants. When she’s lost a few pounds or wants to make other heroines jealous, she’ll sport the shorts. If someone has to die on the streets at the hands of some hooligan while she picks out her outfit, so be it.

Bollywood starlet Mallika Sherawat plays a serpent-woman known in Eastern folklore as the Nagin in director Jennifer Lynch’s new creature-feature Hisss. The film was set to introduce Sherawat—considered the Marilyn Monroe of India—to American audiences, but currently finds itself in distribution limbo.

Fortunately, photos from Sherawat’s April FHM India shoot have hit the net. While it’s not the same as watching the 34-year-old stunner shake her hips and/or swallow things whole on film, the spread is hot enough to hypnotize most trouser snakes.

Magnolia Pictures has released a trailer for writer/director Nick Tomnay’s tables-turned psychological thriller The Perfect Host, starring Swimfan’s Clayne Crawford and “Frasier” star David Hyde Pierce in his first horror flick since 1994’s Wolf.

The Perfect Host follows career criminal John Taylor (Crawford) as he takes up residence in the home of Warwick Wilson, a seemingly nice guy prepping a meal for a special dinner party that will leave a very bad taste in his assailant’s mouth.

The film arrives in selected theaters for a limited run on July 1. It will, however, be available nationwide On-Demand on May 27.

Dimension Films hosted the world premiere for Wes Craven’s much buzzed about sequel Scream 4 last night at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA. Joining Craven on the red carpet were original Scream players Neve Campbell, David Arquette, and everyone’s favorite cougar Courteney Cox.

Also on hand were the franchise’s new stars: Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Kristen Bell, Anna Paquin, Lucy Hale, Mary Shelton, Alison Brie, Marielle Jaffe, Aimee Teegarden, Arielle Kebbel, Adam Brody, Anthony Anderson, and Rory Culkin.

Party crashers included writer/director/actor Eli Roth, Antichrist Superstar Marilyn Manson, sisters Patricia and Rosanna Arquette, “American Idol” David Cook, Fall Out Boy Pete Wentz, and director Robert Rodriguez and Electra Avellan.

Written by Scream creator Kevin Williamson, Scream 4 is the start of a new trilogy that aims to frighten audiences while once again poking fun at modern day horror cliches. To date, the series has earned over $500 million in worldwide coin.

Genre babe Suzi Lorraine is set to star in director Geoff Klein’s Pinup Dolls On Ice, the much anticipated sequel to his inspired 2009 masterpiece Bikini Girls on Ice. According to Klein, the film will have more boobs (!), blood, and back-story on serial killer Moe.

The synopsis reads:

The Pinup Dolls are a hot retro act who put the tease back in striptease. But when an old friend (Suzi Lorraine) hires them to put on a show at a secluded campground, the girls find themselves being stalked by a homicidal maniac with a sick obsession with ice.

As they’re hunted one-by-one, they soon realize they’ll have to rely on more than just their looks to survive this nightmare named Moe.

Lorraine has starred in over 40 indie flicks including the fem-driven slasher Chainsaw Sally, the cannibal chiller Destined to be Ingested, and my next Netflix pick The Lord of the G-strings: Th Femaleship of the String. The 29-year-old New York City native also writes a column for the U.K. fright mag Gorezone.

This flick definitely has an I Know What You Did Last Summer vibe—which is aces for me. I love me some teen deaths, especially if the young whippersnappers are pretty and privileged and have their own teeth!

Forget Me Not marks cinematographer Tyler Oliver’s directorial debut and costars 26-year-old stunner Jillian Murray (The Graves). The film’s vagina-less costars include Cody Linley (“Hannah Montana”), Zachary Abel (“The Secret Life of the American Teenager”), Micah Alberti (“Wildfire”), and Sean Wing (“Beautiful People”).

Oscar winning actress Mira Sorvino headlines director Tom Provost’s upcoming ghost story The Presence. The film marks Sorvino’s return to horror since starring in Spike Lee’s 1999 serial killer drama Son of Sam and Guillermo Del Toro’s 1997 creature-feature Mimic.

Set in an isolated cabin in the woods, The Presence centers on a woman (Sorvino) who becomes the object of a possessive phantom’s (Shane West) affection. Things complicate further when the woman’s boyfriend (Justin Kirk) shows up to join her for a romantic getaway.

At first the jealous spirit attempts to impress the woman by telling her that he invented Post-it notes. When that doesn’t work, however, he resorts to dragging chains, wearing white bed sheets and going bump in the night.

U.K. genre queen Emily Booth is set to star in director Neil Jones vampire thriller The Reverend. The 34-year-old actress joins a cast that includes Tamer Hassan (The Hike), Shane Richie (“EastEnders”) and Doug Bradley, best known for his portrayal of Pinhead in Dimension Films’ beloved Hellraiser franchise.

On a wet, cold night a mysterious girl visits The Reverend at the chapel. Cold and upset she is welcomed in warmly, soon it becomes apparent that her visit is not for sanctuary but to deliver a message, a message in the form of a deep, bloody bite…

Awoken with an unknown, uncontrollable thirst a confused Reverend can find no evidence of the girl from the night before, with nothing but the thirst and memory of the bite, The Reverend embarks on his mandate, to clean up the village and the neighbouring estate, by preaching or feasting.

The Reverend is slated to hit theaters (or not) later this year. A graphic novel based on the film will also be released as a companion piece.

Booth’s genre creds include Doghouse, in which she played a hairdresser-turned-man-hating-cannibal, and the slapstick alien invasion comedy Evil Aliens. She also held bit parts in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriquez’s Grindhouse (in the faux trailer for “Don’t”) and 1997’s sci-fi frightener Event Horizon.

Minnesota born model/actress Tara Heston and a bevy of bikini-clad babes face-off against some nasty high-seas hillbillies in Spotlight Pictures’ new survival-frightener The Watermen. Up until now, marketing for the film had revolved around its young male cast, most notably Clerks star Jason Mewes.

I don’t know much about Heston and her sexy costars, but—needless-to-say—this flick just got a lot more interesting!
