Television actress Jena Sims just got her big break. The 23-year-old beauty queen (Miss Georgia Teen USA, 2007) is set to star in Roger Corman’s Attack of the 50-Foot Cheerleader, an EPIX original movie set to premiere Aug. 25.
Sims, a guest star on “The Vampire Diaries” and “Dexter,” plays a awkward college coed who turns to an experimental drug in the hopes of becoming popular and beautiful. Things go bad, however, when side effects kick in and she suddenly grows into a 50-foot giant (hey, it’s better than anal leakage).
Attack of the 50-Foot Cheerleader is directed by visual effects guru Kevin O’Neill and costars Hollywood psycho Sean Young, old-people actor Treat Williams, Ryan Merriman (The Ring 2) and horror hotties Ariana Madix (The Dead Want Women), Paula LaBaredas (Camel Spiders), Sasha Jackson (Tarantula), Olivia Alexander (Killer Eye: Halloween Haunt).
