Warner Bros. Games has unleashed a live-action trailer for NetherRealm Studios’ new Mortal Kombat game, available for the PlayStation Vita on May 1. The promo stars two busty stunners decked out as scantily-clad sisters Mileena and Kitana.
According to the press release, the fighting game is chockfull of new gameplay features and content made exclusively for PlayStation’s new revolutionary handheld system. It all sounds pretty fancy, but I’m A-OK just playing with myself to this trailer over and over again.
Australian supermodel Abbey Lee Kershaw is set to make her feature film acting debut in director George Miller’s long-delayed Mad Max: Fury Road, the fourth installment in the franchise made famous by Academy Award winning actor and blow-job enthusiast Mel Gibson.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Kershaw will play a woman kept in a cage, which could actually mean that she will be one of the Five Wives, a group of women in need of rescue. The film is said to pick up right after the anarchy of Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.
Attached to the project are Academy Award winner Charlize Theron, Elvis Presley’s granddaughter Riley Keough, and British actor Tom Hardy as the iconic role of “Mad” Max Rockatansky.
A new Spanish-dubbed trailer for Orphanage director Juan Antonio Bayona’s Impossible has burst online. The film is set in Thailand during the 2004 tsunami that wrecked Southeast Asia and stars Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor as a vacationing couple caught in the flood.
Impossible doesn’t appear to have sharks devouring flood survivors ala Bait, but it promises to be better than Clint Eastwood’s snorefest Hereafter. The film has yet to secure U.S. distribution, but will play in Spain this fall (hence the Spanish-dubbed trailer).
After Dark Films has released a trailer for director Eduardo Rodriguez and screenwriter Gary Spinelli’s Stash House, a home invasion thriller described by producers as a cross between The Strangers and Panic Room.
Briana Evigan (Mother’s Day) and Sean Faris (Never Back Down) star as a married couple terrorized in their newly purchased home by drug lord Dolph Lundgren (Expendables). Jon Huertas (”Castle”) and Alyshia Ochse (”General Hospital”) costar.
Stash House will have a limited theatrical run and be available on VOD on May 11.
School doesn’t just suck, it swallows in director Alex Craig Mann’s upcoming horror-comedy Detention of Dead. “Revenge” starlet Christa B. Allen plays the cheerleader in a group of high school delinquents serving detention during a sudden zombie apocalypse.
Detention of Dead costars Jacob Zachar (“Greek”), Alexa Nikolas (Red State), Jayson Blair (“Hard Times of RJ Berger”), Joseph Porter (Mega Piranha), Chon (Twilight Saga) and Max Adler (“Glee”).
Allen currently stars as rich and brainy party girl Charlotte Grayson, daughter of Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe) on the hit ABC primetime soap “Revenge.” The pretty 20-year-old can also be seen opposite Charisma Carpenter in the psychological thriller Deadly Sibling Rivalry.
“Game of Thrones” alumna Roxanne McKee should have taken that left turn at Albuquerque. Now, she’s made a Wrong Turn and is running for her life from a family of deformed inbred hillbillies looking to feast on her flesh.
McKee joins Hellraiser star Doug Bradley (Pinhead) in 20th Century Fox’s Wrong Turn 5, which is set in a small West Virginia town during a Halloween festival in the mountains. Wrong Turn 4 director Declan O’Brien returns to direct the slasher now shooting in Sophia, Bulgaria.
McKee is a Canadian-born, London-raised actress who has starred on the British lesbian drama (oh, yeah) “Lip Service” and the long-running teen soap “Hollyoaks” (think “Gossip Girl” with super hot British chicks). The 31-year-old stunner is best known in the U.S. for her portrayal of Doreah, handmaid to Dothraki queen Daenerys Targaryen on HBO’s “Game of Thrones.”
Jaime King (My Bloody Valentine 3D) has signed on to star opposite genre icon Malcolm McDowell (Clockwork Orange) in director Steven C. Miller’s (Scream of the Banshee) remake of Charles E. Sellier, Jr.’s beloved 1984 holiday classic Silent Night, Deadly Night.
King will play Aubrey Bradimore, Deputy Sheriff to McDowell’s Sheriff Cooper.The duo will face off against a murderous Santa out to slaughter naughty young women and the men who screw them. Donal Logue (Shark Night 3D), Jamie Kennedy (Scream), Brendan Fehr (“Roswell”), Lisa Marie (Lords of Salem), and Ellen Wong (“The Carrie Diaires”) costar.
Silent Night, Deadly Night will go into production next week in Winnipeg. The remake is slated for release this holiday season. Anchor Bay will distribute the Genre Company and Buffalo Gal Pictures production.
Academy Award winning actress Charlize Theron is attached to star in director Rupert Wyatt’s (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) recently announced T.S. Nowlin-penned sci-fi thriller Agent 13, an adaptation of the ’80s comic book series created by writers Flint Dille (Dead to Rights)and David Marconi (Live Free or Die Hard).
The Universal Pictures production is set in the 1930s and follows Agent 13’s battle against the Brotherhood, a secret organization made up of people from the lost civilization of Lemuria that has fallen under corrupt leadership. Theron will most likely play Agent 13’s lover China White or his closest operative Maggie Darr.
Theron, who will soon be seen as villainous bureaucrat Meredith Vicks in Ridley Scott’s eagerly awaited Prometheus and as the Evil Queen in Rupert Sanders’ Snow White and the Huntsmen, will also produce under her Denver and Delilah shingle.
[Rourke is] all excited to come back, but he’s probably the first one. I saw Rosario [Dawson] too. I ran into her for something else, and she’s pumped. They’ve always been excited about doing another one, so that will be fun.
Cameras will roll on Sin City: A Dame to Kill For this summer in Austin, Texas. Miller is promising “a ferocious film experience that is going to go even further than the first.”
The sequel is an adaptation of Miller’s “A Dame to Kill For” with the script co-written by Miller and Academy Award winner William Monahan (The Departed). AR Films and Quick Draw Productions are producing. Harvey and Bob Weinstein serve as executive producers.
Rebekah Brandes (Bellflower) is set to star in Nothing to Fear, a demonic thriller directed by Anthony Leonardi III for Slasher Films, the start-up genre studio founded by Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash.
Brandes joins a cast that includes Anne Heche (The Occult), James Tupper (“Revenge”), Willa Holland (Straw Dogs), Jennifer Stone (”Wizards of Waverly Place”), Ethan Peck (Mine Games) and Clancy Brown (“LOST”). She will play the daughter of Heche and Tupper’s characters.
Nothing to Fear is the story of a pastor who moves his family to Stull, Kansas, one of the seven known gateways to hell, and watches as his daughters unleash the ultimate evil. The film is based on actual town folklore that claims the devil rises once every year from the local graveyard to walk the earth.
