While she’s obviously a 9 in our perverted little brain-movies, actress Teresa Palmer has been cast as alien Number 6 in the Steven Spielberg/Michael Bay produced sci-fi actioner I Am Number Four. The film is an adaptation of the upcoming HarperCollins young-adult novel of the same name written by James Frey (”A Million Little Pieces”) and Jobie Hughes.
I Am Number Four centers on nine aliens living incognito as high school students in Paradise, Ohio after their home planet is destroyed by evil extraterrestrials. “Smallville” creators Al Gough and Miles Millar penned the script.
"I hope no one remembers this movie when I'm cast in a Spielberg flick"
Palmer creds include Disney’s upcoming The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Takashi Shimizu’s The Grudge 2, and the 2008 erotic thriller Restraint, for which she went nude.
I Am Number Four is directed by DJ Caruso (Disturbia) and costars Sharlto Copley (District 9) and Alex Pettyfer (Beastly) as the titular hero Four. It’s slated for release on Feb. 18, 2011.

Actress Gemma Arterton has quickly assembled an army of fan-boys by taking roles in Warner Bros’ Clash of the Titans remake and Jerry Bruckheimer’s upcoming Prince of Persiaadaptation. But, her part in director J. Blakeson’s (The Descent 2) abduction-thriller The Disappearance of Alice Creed will deliver what those of us who take hand lotion to the theater have truly been waiting for … Arterton in the buff.
The 24-year-old stralet was recently photographed during the red carpet premiere of the film at Southhampton Union Cinema located on the campus of the University of Southhampton in the U.K. The college got the opportunity to host the gala after winning a Facebook contest.
Surprisingly, Arterton arrived to the event looking about as sexy as your gay aunt.
Australian actress Rose Byrne will star opposite Patrick Wilson (Watchmen) in Saw director James Wan’s new frightener Insidious (formerly titled The Further). The film is scripted by go-to Wan collaborator Leigh Whannell (Saw 1-3).
Insidious centers on a married couple (Byrne, Wilson) that discovers that the body of their comatose son is hosting evil spirits. Paranormal Activity’sOren Peli and Jason Blum are attached as producers.
Byrne’s horror/sci-fi creds include Knowing, 28 Weeks Later, Sunshine, and Star Wars: Attack of the Clones (she played Queen Amidala’s handmaiden Dorme). The 30-year-old starlet is best known for her current role as Ellen Parsons on the Emmy award-winning FX show “Damages.”
If you’ve been holding your breath till your blue in the face in hopes that producer/director/asshole James Cameron would shoot a sequel to his blockbuster hit Avatar, go ahead and breathe. Cameron has announced plans to turn the film into a trilogy, beginning with a sequel set in Pandora’s ocean.
We created a broad canvas for the environment of film. That’s not just on Pandora, but throughout the Alpha Centauri AB system. And we expand out across that system and incorporate more into the story – not necessarily in the second film, but more toward a third film.
I’ve already announced this, so I might as well say it: Part of my focus in the second film is in creating a different environment – a different setting within Pandora. And I’m going to be focusing on the ocean on Pandora, which will be equally rich and diverse and crazy and imaginative, but it just won’t be a rain forest. I’m not saying we won’t see what we’ve already seen; we’ll see more of that as well.
Cameron also discussed plans for a theatrical re-release of Avatar in August, citing a loss of potential income due to limited IMAX theater availability during the film’s initial run as motivation.
He explains:
We’re working on finishing an additional six minutes of the film — which includes a lot of Weta work — for a theatrical re-release in August. We were sold out of our Imax performances right up to the moment until they were contractually obligated to switch to “Alice in Wonderland,” so we know we left money on the table there.
And the 3-D really helped “Avatar” right up until the moment that it hurt it. And it hurt it at the moment “Alice” and then “How to Train Your Dragon” and “Clash of the Titans” came in and sucked up all the 3-D screens. We went from declining 8% a week to declining 50%.
Clearly, it wasn’t market forces directly; it was the availability of theaters. So we’re going to wait until there’s a time to come back in, inject the new footage into the mix and see if we can interest people in the “Avatar” experience in theaters.
Avatar is the highest earning film of all time and sparked the 3-D craze that has given theater owners the gall to raise prices on 3-D showings. Personally, I recommend picking up the Avatar bootleg.
When ten-year-old mama’s boy Sheldyn Conley discovered illustrations of nude women in his “Spectre” comic, he didn’t share it with his buddies nor hide it under his mattress for later use. No … he told his mom.
In an interview with ABC 4 in Layton, Utah, Conley explains:
I seen the naked lady and I got mad. I just turned the page and I seen the naked ladies so I handed it to a grownup and said, ‘Look at this.’
The boy’s mother immediately called field reporter Annie Cutler to investigate the Dollar Tree store where the offending comic was purchased as part of the “Superhero Comic Book Spectacular” family-pack. The comic has since been pulled from shelves.
This is the kid that always rats out the hot thirty-something teacher that’s willing to suck tween nut-sac after school in the parking lot. No wonder his father walked out on him. If my kid ever said titties made him angry, I’d beat him senseless with a rolled-up copy of Hustler magazine. It’s called tough love, people.
Director Barry Sonnenfeld has confirmed to Showbiz 411 that Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will reprise their respective roles as Agent J and Agent K in Sony Pictures upcoming sequel Men in Black 3-D.
Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat) and Jemaine Clement (“Flight of the Conchords”) are said to be in the running to play a villainous alien named Yaz. Josh Brolin (Jonah Hex) is also rumored to play a part in the film, though nothing has been officially announced.
My only question: Where is Lara Flyn Boyle?
The Men in Black franchise has earned over $1 billion in worldwide gross.
So, I was going to spend 4-20 on my couch eating Cheetos and getting high, but then I realized I don’t smoke pot. I also noticed that there is no special day set aside for recreational meth consumption. How unfair is that?
Needless to say, there’s no reason for me to slack off on my blogging duties. That said, I do have news that most tokers will appreciate: writer-director Leigh Scott (Flu Bird Horror) is adding a new chapter to the “Wizard of Oz” story by author L. Frank Baum (MGM’s 1939 film adaptation is a beloved stoner-cinema classic).
Peep it:
Dorothy and the Witches of Oz finds Dorothy Gale living in New York City as a successful author of children’s books. When the Wicked Witch of the West shows up in Times Square, Dorothy realizes that the inspiration for her stories have comes from a series of repressed childhood memories, and that she must now once again face off against evil.
The film’s cast includes Paulie Rojas (pictured above), horror icons Lance Henriksen (Pumpkinhead) and Jeffrey Combs (Re-Animator), Jason Mewes (Clerks), Billy Boyd (Lord of the Rings), Mia Sara (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off) and Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future) as The Wizard of Oz.
No word yet on how well this movie will synch up to Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon”
Shiloh Fernandez (Deadgirl) has been cast as Amanda Seyfried’s (Chloe) love interest in Warner Bros’ The Girl with the Red Riding Hood, a romantic re-imaging of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale “Little Red Riding Hood.”
Fernandez will play a young, orphaned woodcutter named Peter who strikes up a romance with Seyfried in a small medieval village that is under attack by a werewolf.
Fernandez reportedly auditioned for the part seven times before finally nailing the gig. No word yet on whether his character is the fim’s lycan.
The Girl with the Red Riding Hood is produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, written by David Johnson (Orphan), and directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight).

The film is directed by Daniel Barnz (Phoebe in Wonderland) and costars Neil Patrick Harris, May-Kate Olson, Peter Krause, Lisa Gay Hamilton, and Dakota Johnson (daughter to Don Johnson & Melanie Griffith). It arrives in theaters on July 30.
AnnaLynne McCord was recently photographed in Hermosa Beach showing off her yellow bikini, playing volleyball, and … tongue kissing her sister Angel (beats reading mystery novels).
Best known for her role as Naomi Clark on Fox’s new “90210” series, McCord has starred in the horror flicks The Haunting of Molly Hartley and the 2008 remake of George Romero’s Day of the Dead.
AnnaLynne McCord gets lippy!
McCord will next star in director Alex Wright’s werewolf-thriller Two Wolves as a detective investigating a disfigured guide-dog trainer after some poor blind bastards end up torn to shreds.
