“Community” star Gillian Jacobs is set to star in New Artists Alliance’s upcoming horror-comedy Milo. The 30-year-old stunner joins a cast that includes Ken Marino (”Childrens Hospital”), Peter Stormare (Undocumented) and Judy Greer (Carrie).
The movie tells the tale of a stress-stricken man named Duncan (Marino) who discovers that he has an anxiety-driven demon living inside his intestines. At his therapist’s (Stormare) urging, Duncan releases his demon, names it Milo and attempts to regain control of his life. Jacobs plays Duncan’s stress-inducing wife.
THR.com broke the story and reports that editor Jacob Vaughan (Black Rock, Jeff, Who Lives at Home) will make his directorial debut with the project, which is executive produced by indie-heroes Jay and Mark Duplass (Safety Not Guaranteed). Production is slated to begin this month in Los Angeles.
Jacobs, best known for her role as Britta Perry on NBC’s “Community,” is coming off the apocalyptic comedy Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. Notable creds include The Box, Gardens of the Night and the Chuck Palahniuk adaptation Choke, in which she goes topless (you’re welcome).
