Tara Reid Preps Major Comeback with ‘Sharknado’

Tara-Reid-Boobs

Back in February, news dropped that American Pie starlet Tara Reid had scored a dramatically challenging role in a tsunami thriller that Clatto was sure would rival Naomi Watts’ Oscar-nominated performance in The Impossible. Today, it becomes apparent how right we were.

Reid is starring in Sharknado.

Originally titled Dark Skies, the story was said to follow a divorced Venice Beach bar owner as he searches for his estranged family after a flood drowns his city. Making the quest more difficult are the man-eating sharks hunting the flooded streets.

Pretty good, right? Well, good wasn’t enough for director Anthony C. Ferrante and writer Thunder Levin. They’re out for genius. That is why they’ve thrown a tornado into the mix… a tornado that scoops up the sharks and hurls them at flood survivors jaws first.

Sharknado is everything you had hoped The Impossible had been. Here’s hoping Reid is as committed to the role as Watt’s was to hers and shows off a buoy or two. No word yet on when the Asylum-produced epic will release.

Kathryn-Morris-Semi-Nude

“Cold Case” star Kathryn Morris is set to join director Dante Tomaselli’s remake of the 1976 slasher Alice, Sweet Alice. Morris will play Catherine Spages, a single mom to two daughters, one of which is emotionally disturbed and suspect in the death of the other.

Tomaselli tells the Inquisitr:

In keeping with the spirit of the original, Kathryn’s character will look and feel similar, strikingly beautiful, perfectly sculpted dark hair, fiercely protective of her children and plagued by deep Catholic guilt.

Morris has starred in a string of notable genre films, including the Steven Spielberg sci-fi thrillers Minority Report and A.I. Artificial Intelligence, John Woo’s Paycheck, Renny Harlins underrated serial killer actioner Mindhunters, The Prophecy II opposite Christopher Walken and the sex-comedy Cougars, Inc.

She is best known, however, for playing Det. Lily Rush for seven seasons on the hit CBS crime procedural “Cold Case.”

Catch Jessica Biel in ‘Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes’

Jessica-Biel-Sexy-Fishes

The only thing that could scare horror fans from Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes is its title. The flick sounds like the story of a young French woman’s journey from Milan to Minsk. And, yet, there are creepy overtones that suggest Francesca Gregorini’s film may indeed be a disturbing psychological thriller.

And, if it’s not… there’s Jessica Biel to stare at.

The film is about an emotionally disturbed teen girl’s (Kaya Scodelario) obsession with the single mom (Biel) who’s moved into her neighborhood, a woman with an uncanny resemblance to her deceased mother. Things get trippy when the young girl offers to babysit the woman’s newborn.

Time to Nut Up: Amazon’s ‘Zombieland’ Series Premieres April 19!

Zombieland

The pilot episode of Amazon Studios’ “Zombieland” will premiere online on April 19.. The show is based on the 2009 horror-comedy starring Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Abigail Breslin and Emma Stone as an unlikely band of zombie apocalypse survivors.

Written by original Zombieland scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the pilot picks up where the original film left off and stars people named Kirk Ward as Tallahassee, Tyler Ross as Columbus and Izabela Vidovic as Little Rock. “Switched at Birth” and “Desperate Housewives” stunner Maiara Walsh plays Wichita.

With the exception of Walsh, casting leaves a bit to be desired. Ward stepping into Woody Harrelson’s boots just doesn’t tickle one’s pickle, though props for nutting up to the challenge must be given. But, hey, decide for yourselves on April 19. It’s free to watch on Amazon.

‘Sherlock Holmes’ Star Kelly Reilly Discovers ‘Heaven Is for Real’

kelly_reilly

British actress Kelly Reilly (Eden Lake) has signed on to star as the female lead in Randall Wallace’s Heaven Is for Real, a faith-based drama about a four-year-old boy who claims to have seen heaven after having a near-death experience during emergency surgery.

The film is based on Nebraska pastor Todd Burpo and his wife Lynn Vincent’s New York Times bestseller “Heaven Is for Real: A Little Boy’s Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back.” According to the book, no one believed his young son up until he started to say things about heaven that no one would know.

I’m guessing it’s ice cream.

Reilly, along with Greg Kinnear (Little Miss Sunshine) will play the boy’s parents. Reilly is best known for her starring role in the British horror film Eden Lake and for playing Mary Watson in Warner Bros. Sherlock Holmes franchise, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.
