IFC Midnight has released a trailer for producer Eli Roth’s remake of his gory 2002 classic Cabin Fever. Travis Zariwny helms the film from Cabin Fever writer Randy Pearlstein’s original script. While the plot remains the same, producers stress the kills are new and “ingenious.”
Cabin Fever follows a group of friends as they fall victim to a disgusting flesh-eating virus while vacationing in an isolated cabin in the woods. “Teen Wolf” star Gage Golightly toplines the film and co-stars with Louise Linton (The Echo), Dustin Ingram (Paranormal Activity 3) and Nadine Crocker (Deadgirl).
Trailer looks every bit as fun as the original Cabin Fever and touches on its most memorably gruesome moments, making us curious to see how more outrageous the new stuff will be. As a direct-to-video franchises, it’s one of the best – Patient Zero especially exceptional – so we’re feeling good about this.
Cabin Fever strikes Feb. 12 in limited theatrical release and VOD.
Amber Heard is in talks with Warner Bros. to star with Jason Momoa in James Wan’s Aquaman. Heard is being considered for the role of Mera, Aquaman’s love interest and the queen of Atlantis. If cast, Heard will make her debut as Mera in Zac Snyder’s Justice League, the first in the studio’s DC Universe movies.
Mera made her debut in DC Comics in 1963 and, in addition to serving up some juicy red snapper to Aquaman, has the abilities to control and solidify water. No word on if Heard’s costume includes a seashell bikini top.
Amy Smart returns to the genre that loves her in Adam Mason’s (Pig) new home invasion frightener The Hangman. Jeremy Sisto (Suburgatory) and Kate Ashfield (Byzantium) star as a married couple with kids who return from holiday to find their home has been broken into.
What the family doesn’t know is the intruder remains inside. The film is shot from the killer’s perspective and releases on DVD and Blu-ray Feb. 9. Smart only plays a small role in the film, but commands the screen because she’s…, well, Amy Smart.
Fans of 2008 sci-fi thriller Cloverfield are besides themselves over Paramount Pictures newly released trailer for producer J.J. Abrams’ surprise sequel 10 Cloverfield Lane. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, the film stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead (The Thing), John Gallagher Jr. (Jonah Hex), and John Goodman.
Described by Abrams as a “blood relative” of Cloverfield, the new film finds its three stars living in an underground bunker after what they believe has been a nuclear fallout, but soon to be threatened with a new breed of monster.
Universal has released a trailer for Blumhouse Tilt’s new supernatural thriller The Veil. Directed by Phil Joanou (Gridiron Gang) and written by Robert Ben Garant (Jessabelle), the film follows the lone survivor of a mass cult suicide who takes a documentary filmmaker to the compound where it all went down.
Jessica Alba toplines the film as the documentarian shooting survivor Lily Rabe’s (“American Horror Story”) account of the strange happenings experienced at the hands of a mysterious and powerful cult leader, played by Thomas Jane (Punisher). It arrives on VOD Feb. 2.
“Pretty Little Liars” star Ashley Benson toplines Sony Pictures’ Ratter, a new cyber-thriller from newbie director Branden Kramer, set for release March 1 on DVD and digital platforms. Benson plays a New York City grad student originally from the Midwest who becomes the victim of a cyber-stalker.
Benson currently plays fattie-turned-hottie Hanna Marin on ABC Family’s teen soap “Pretty Little Liars” and is coming off the video game based, sci-fi comedy Pixels. She was also a recurring on ABC’s short-lived witch series “Eastwick.” But to those of us with penises, she’s the hotter, bustier chick from Spring Breakers.
A trailer has gone online for Studio Canal’s upcoming psychological thriller High-Rise, starring Tom Hiddlestone (Thor), Luke Evans (No One Lives), Jeremy Irons (Batman v Superman), and Sienna Miller (The Girl) as tenants in a luxurious skyscraper designed to keep the wealthy high above the poor.
It’s all wonderful until power outages and structure flaws start to give way to infiltration from those on the lower floors. Hiddlestone plays the building’s newest well-to-do resident, Evans is a married documentarian with a baby on the way, Irons is the tower’s architect, and Miller a bohemian MILF neighbor.
IFC Midnight has released Eytan Rockaway’s feature directorial debut The Abandoned on VOD. Louisa Krause (Martha Marcy May Marlene) stars as a single mother with a tainted past working night security at an abandoned luxury apartment complex to regain custody of her kid.
Making matters difficult are her coworker, a seasoned and embittered brute played by Jason Patric (Your Friends and Neighbors), a creepy vagrant, and the building’s catacombs, which beckon the young troubled MILF into a trap.
We caught The Abandoned during Screamfest and really enjoyed the hell out of it. Krause makes for a solid scream queen – attractive and vulnerable – but Patric steals every scene as the dick-turned-hero and is a blast to watch. Camera work is beautiful, sets are creepy, and the mystery has some tight twists.
Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema have released a trailer for James Wan’s The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist. The sequel to Wan’s surprise 2013 blockbuster reunites Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as real-life married demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren, best known for working the infamous Amityville Horror case of 1975.
The Conjuring 2: Enfield Poltergeist follows Ed and Lorraine Warren to North London in 1977 to help a single mom trying to raise her four children in a house haunted by evil spirits. Based on true events, the film is written by Chad and Carey Hayes (Whiteout) and is set for release June 10 in theaters.
The very best in female nude acting is once again celebrated in Clatto’s second annual list of The 5 Hottest Nude-Acting Performances in Horror. This year’s picks include a group of international movie starlets, an all-American TV star, and a fledgling body-double in her first major cable network show.
The power of female nudity is in its purity and vulnerability (male nudity is just gross). Any actress can emote with words, timing, and experience, but it takes a entirely different set of skills and talent to make us care for a character solely based on the size of her boobs and shape of her tush.

5. SONOYA MIZUNO (EX MACHINA)
Swedish actress Alicia Vikander has been showered with accolades for her mesmerizing performance as Ava the android in the acclaimed sci-fi thriller Ex Machina. The praise is worthy and Vikander’s nude acting formidable, but our honoree proves mystery is always a powerful aphrodisiac.
Sonoya Mizuno plays mute assistant Kyoko, one of many hot android chicks created by a software company mogul looking to build the most human-like AI robotics possible. While Mizuno doesn’t get the screen time Vikander does as the movie’s lead, she is captivating in every nude scene she’s in. She’s also a lean, mean, dancing machine!
4. ANA DE ARMAS & LORENZA IZZO (KNOCK KNOCK)
Cuban stunner Ana de Armas (El Callejon) and Chilean model-turned-actress Lorenza Izzo (Green Inferno) play the home invading hotties in Knock Knock, a psycho-sexual thriller mixing every married man’s greatest fantasy with his worst nightmare.
Eli Roth directs and Keanu Reeves stars as a happily married man who regrettably allows the girls into his home while his family is away. They playfully seduce Reeves into sex, but soon reveal their game is anything but playful when they wreak havoc on his property and person, punishment for his infidelity.
Armas and Izzo bounce off each other seamlessly, injecting humor and fear and, of course, stroke-value to the film. There’s no way one works without the other so we acknowledge them together as a nude-acting team.
3. NADIA HILKER (SPRING)
Nadia Hilker plays Louise, an Italian genetics student caught in a romance with an American suitor in Italy. Like most women, she has secrets that make her mysterious and all the more attractive. She’s also got a wardrobe of breezy skirts, sexy dresses, and clingy sweaters and tops — all of which tease a killer body… literally.
Louise is in the midst of a transforming into a hideous creature capable of devouring her lover. Common sense tells him to run for the hills, but Hilker is just too hot for a down-and-out loser looking for a new lease on life to pass up. Hilker’s nude acting only comes into play twice, but it’s alluring enough to understand her suitor’s plight.
2. CHARISMA CARPENTER (BOUND)
“Angel” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” star Charisma Carpenter turns in an Oscar-worthy nude performance in TheAsylum’s Bound, a Fifty Shades of Grey knockoff about a sexually repressed MILF who discovers the BDSM lifestyle at the hands of a younger man.
Carpenter, who has not gone nude since 2006’s Flirting with Danger, lets it all hang out as real estate broker Michelle Milan, a beautiful forty-something single mom with daddy issues and a compelling hunger to be degraded. When young, sadistic degenerate Ryan enters her life, she happily hands over her dignity and vagina.
Ryan keeps her naked in a dungeon throughout most of the film, taking breaks to eat her out in her daddy’s office and to humiliate her in front of business partners by masturbating her via remote controlled vibrating panties. Carpenter soon sees herself as a “messy whore” and allows Ryan to get away with banging her 17 yo hot daughter.
Carpenter’s dedication to the role is mind-blowing, especially when considering the production is for TheAsylum and will only bring her ridicule and bad reviews. Maybe, just maybe, Carpenter has a little Michelle in her — a need to be abused? Or, perhaps, it was just a nice payday. Either way, her nude acting talents are tremendously appreciated.
1. REBECCA VAN CLEAVE (GAME OF THRONES)
If you’re asking yourself who is Rebecca Van Cleave and why is she acknowledged on our esteemed list of nude acting for Lena Headey’s role as Queen Cersei Lannister on HBO’s acclaimed fantasy series “Game of Thrones,” we’re about to poop on your parade.
In what is easily the longest walk of shame ever, Cersei Lannister is forced to make her way through the streets of King’s Landing completely naked for townsfolk to pelt her with food and feces as punishment for acts of incest and adultery. The scene is long and leering and intense and, well, hot beyond belief!
Rebecca Van Cleave (Body Double)
Cersei’s body is gorgeous and her vulnerability enthralling. Headey handles the facial emotions, but it’s fledgling actress Cleave who serves as body-double, providing the images that lingered with us in the shower long after the show ended its season.
Headey, no stranger to nudity, opted for a body-double when it became clear her second pregnancy would interfere with the scene’s stroke-value, opening the door for Cleave to win fans over with nothing but her nude, curvy body. Every painful stumble, every heartbreaking fall, every mesmerizing jiggle is Cleave’s — an undeniable master of nude acting.
