Scarlett Johansson has been tapped to star in Rupert Sanders’ (Snow White) adaptation of Masamune Shirow’s manga Ghost in a Shell for DreamWorks. She will play Major Motoko Kusanagi, a cyborg super agent fighting cyber terrorist who hack half-human/half-android beings to do crime.

Margot Robbie, the beautiful and very nude star of Martin Scorsese’s awesome Wolf of Wall Street, was said to be the front runner for the role, but Johansson ain’t chopped liver so penises everywhere will be like “what the… oh okay; that’s cool” when they hear the news.

Johansson is coming off the awesomely fun Luc Besson sci-fi actioner Lucy, Marvel’s blockbuster The Avengers, and Jonathan Glazer’s artsy-fartsy sci-fi drama Under the Skin, listed as number one in Clatto’s list of The Sexiest Horror Films of 2014.

A trailer has gone online for the Feb. 8 mid-season premiere of season five of AMC’s “The Walking Dead.” Season five has been an enthralling, heartbreaking doozey so far, and promises to get more intense as Rick Grimes and the gang continue on the road, knowing there is no actual cure waiting in Washington.

When it comes to a show like “The Walking Dead,” there’s no need to ramble on and on. Hell, most of you have already clicked play on the trailer by now. I could finish this post with my grocery list and you wouldn’t notice: bottle of Chopin, ice, popcorn, Advil.

Lionsgate has released a trailer for Voices, a psychological horror-comedy from Iranian director Marjane Satrapi (Persepolis) and screenwriter Michael R. Perry (Paranormal Activity). Ryan Reynolds stars as a bathtub factory employee falling for a woman in accounting only to have homicidal tendencies threaten their union.

Confusing him further are the pets he imagines speaking to him, an evil cat and his morally sound dog. Anna Kendrick plays the accountant. Gemma Arterton co-stars  as an ex who appears to have gotten the axe. Voices hits selected theaters and VOD on Feb. 6.

“Spartacus: Blood and Sand” stunner Erin Cummings stars in The Last Word, a supernatural thriller inspired by the true criminal case of Johnny Garrett, a convicted killer sentence to death for the murder and rape of a 76-year-old nun on Halloween 1981.

Directed by Simon Rumley (Red White & Blue, ABCs of Death), The Last Word centers on the mysterious deaths of Garrett’s jurors after he damns them for their verdict, and follows one man’s quest to prove Garrett’s innocence in the hopes of reversing the curse and saving his son’s life.

Cummings is coming off Spanish filmmaker Adrián García Bogliano’s werewolf thriller Late Phases. She is best known for playing Sura, Spartacus’ doomed wife, on season one of the Starz original series “Spartacus: Blood and Sand,” and for her role as secret agent Hel in Rick Jacobson’s Bitch Slap.

XLrator Media announced it has acquired the North American distribution rights to Amnesiac, a psychological thriller from Michael Polish (The Astronaut Farmer). The film stars Kate Bosworth as a woman who may or may not be the wife of a man waking up with amnesia after an accident.

Wes Bentley (Hunger Games) plays the husband, who despite his memory loss, begins to suspect things aren’t right when he catches his supposed wife in what could be lies. XLrator will release Amnesiac this summer through its Macabre genre label.

Bosworth is coming off “The League’s” Katie Aselton’s girl-power thriller Black Rock and has starred in such notable genre offerings as Screen Gems’ remake of Sam Peckinpah’s controversial 1971 home-invasion thriller Straw Dogs and Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns.

Relativity has released a trailer for Blumhouse Productions new supernatural thriller The Lazarus Effect. Mark Duplass (“The League”) stars as a med-school student who reanimates his gorgeous dead girlfriend to disastrous results. Hey, you’d do the same if your lady was Olivia Wilde (Tron)!

The Lazarus Effect is directed by documentary filmmaker David Gelb (Jiro Dreams of Suishi) from a script penned by folks who must have really enjoyed Joel Schumacher’s Flatliners, a 1990 sci-fi thriller about med-school students conducting near-death experiments to see what lies in the afterlife.

The Lazarus Effect arrives in theaters Feb. 27.

Disney has released the first trailer for Marvel Studios Ant-Man, starring funny man Paul Rudd (This Is 40) as con-man turned titular superhero Scott Lang. The film is directed by Peyton Reed (Bring It On, The Break-Up) from a script by Rudd and Adam McKay (Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues).

Ant-Man co-stars Michael Douglas as Lang’s mentor Dr. Hank Pym and stunner Evangeline Lilly (“LOST”) as Pym’s estranged daughter Hope Van Dyne, a hand-to-hand combat specialist and villainess known as Red Queen. The film marches into theaters July 17.

Peep it:

Warner Bros. has released a slew of images for Mad Max: Fury Road, the fourth installment in the George Miller directed franchise. To say the film is eagerly anticipated is an understatement. Its frenzied first and second trailers revealed a brutally violent apocalypse populated by road-raging lunatics.

Picking up after the events in Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, the sequel stars Tom Hardy (Dark Knight Rises) as iconic antihero “Mad” Max Rockatansky. Charlize Theron plays Furiosa, the elite Imperator Max helps across the wasteland. The film arrives May 15.

District 9 and Elysium director Neill Blomkamp revealed concept art for a new Alien sequel he was working on for shit and giggles. Blomkamp describes the images as “a mental stroll into the world Ridley Scott created” on his Instagram, but those hankering for a proper Alien movie are besides themselves.

Blomkamp writes on Instagram:

Was working on this. Don’t think I am anymore. Love it though. Woulda rocked. This has nothing to do with the studio. I just feel like I might do something else instead. In which case why not show some work. They didn’t really even know I was working on it.

Ridley Scott’s Prometheus was a fine sci-fi film, but a major boner-killer for fans of the Alien franchise expecting an equal amount of thrills and mythology. The concept art Blomkamp was working on suggests something that could be far more exciting and epic… and sees the return of Ellen Ripley and Corporal Hicks.

The big acting award shows have conditioned most of us into believing a great actress must be clothed. But, the art of acting is most powerful when it is naked, raw, and vulnerable.

5. PAZ DE LA HUERTA (NURSE 3D)

After being inexplicably snubbed by the Emmy people for her brilliant nude acting as gangster Nucky Thompson’s mistress on HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire,” Paz de la Huerta returned to wow audiences with a starring role in the Lionsgate psycho-sexual slasher Nurse 3D.

Huerta acts her ass off as Abby Russell, a day nurse with lesbian inklings who seduces and murders men by night. When she meets Danni, played by “30 Rock” stunner Katrina Bowden, she is understandably enamored and, naturally drugs her during a night of clubbing and date-rapes her.

Nurse 3D was, of course, panned by self-important critics and other ugly people, but Huerta is in fine form, capturing Abby’s dominant sex appeal and vulnerable emotional center using nothing but her shapely ass and perky boobs. Now, that’s talent.

4. JOEY FISHER (PARLOR)

British stunner Joey Fisher is no stranger to fans of lad magazines. The glamor model, known for her curvy figure and gloriously enormous breasts, has been an all-time favorite in the pages of periodicals Zoo and Nuts. But, none of that could prepare fans for Fisher’s nude acting debut in indie slasher Parlor.

Fisher plays Zala, a big-boobed stripper working in a Lithuanian nudie bar. There she meets and lap dances the hell out of a patron who tells her he must leave to find friends he fought with and abandoned while on their way to see an internationally renowned tattoo artist.

Eager to have her clit pierced, she latches on to the stranger on his journey to the parlor, unaware of the horrors that await. Fisher is awesome in the role, nailing the sweet seductiveness of her character at work in the titty bar and her bratty entitled queen bitch persona outside the club. Here’s hoping we see more of her in 2015!

3. EVA GREEN (SIN CITY: DAME TO KILL FOR, 300:RISE OF AN EMPIRE, PENNY DREADFUL)

No one flexed their nude acting muscle more this year than sexy French actress Eva Green. On the big screen, Green went full-frontal and back in Robert Rodriguez’s Sin City sequel A Dame to Kill For and topless in 300: Rise of an Empire, a sequel to Zack Snyder’s 300.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For found Green going nude throughout most of the film as emotionally unstable and conniving femme fatal Ava Lord. In 300: Rise of an Empire, she played vengeful navy commander Artemesia. Not only was she a tough cookie, she engages in an outrageous rough-and-tumble sex scene.

On the small screen, Green acts nude on the Showtime series “Penny Dreadful,” an origins drama mixing new characters with classic literary monsters and figures such as Dorian Grey, Van Helsing, and Dr. Frankenstein. Green plays Vanessa Ives, the show’s fearless, demon-fucking heroine.

2. SCARLETT JOHANSSON (UNDER THE SKIN)

Scarlett Johansson is a bona fide star, lauded for her performances in Hollywood blockbusters and acclaimed indie dramas alike. In 2014, she shocked the world when she made her nude acting debut in Jonathan Glazer’s Under the Skin.

An adaptation of Michel Faber’s debut novel, Under the Skin finds Johansson playing an alien disguised as a hot slut to seduce and trap the men of earth as food for her species. The film is (f)arthouse sci-fi complete with head-scratching imagery, but Johansson’s use of boobs, bush, and ass is undeniably powerful.

1. ALEXANDRA DADDARIO (TRUE DETECTIVE)

Fright fans have had their eyes glued to Alexandra Daddario since her gorgeous skinny, big-boobed frame fell into peril in Stevan Mena’s gruesome indie-slasher Bereavement and Lionsgate’s Texas Chainsaw. But as her popularity grew with the family/fantasy Percy Jackson franchise, the hopes of watching her nude act dwindled.

Then the unexpected happened. Daddario was tapped to play Detective Marty Hart’s (Woody Harrelson) mistress on the acclaimed HBO serial killer drama “True Detective.” The role called for Daddario to handcuff Woody’s character and strip completely nude, displaying not only her amazing breasts but—to everyone’s surprise—her bottom half as well!

Unlike Johansson’s nude turn in Under the Skin, Daddario’s full-frontal scene in “True Detective” is brightly lit, making it all the more enjoyable.
