Gravitas Ventures has released a trailer for writer and director Carter Smith’s new supernatural thriller Jamie Marks is Dead, an adaptation of Christopher Barzak’s debut novel “One for Sorrow.” The film marks Smith’s first feature since 2008’s killer vines frightener The Ruins.

Jamie Marks is Dead tells the story of a bullied, small town kid (Noah Silver) whose dead body is found by a popular jock (Cameron Monaghan), who becomes obsessed with his passing and is soon visited by his ghost. Costarring are Morgan Saylor (“Homeland”), Judy Greer (Carrie) and Liv Tyler (pictured).

The film arrives in selected theaters and VOD on Aug. 29.

Peep it:

Twentieth Century Fox has released a first trailer for Ridley Scott’s biblical epic Exodus: Gods and Kings, a re-telling of the tale of Moses that we hope won’t be as ridiculously awful as Darren Aronofsky’s Noah, an embarrassing re-imagining of Noah as a Clash of the Titans character.

Unfortunately, the trailer fails to give us faith in the film. Clatto doesn’t mean to be holier than thou. If there is a heaven, we won’t be there. But, bible stories are so brutal and awesome, why not stick to the original source? Here’s hoping Scott gets it right.

Anyway… Christian Bale (Dark Knight) stars as Moses and Joel Edgerton (The Thing) plays Pharaoh Ramses. Co-stars include Aaron Paul (“Breaking Bad”), John Turturro (Transformers), Sigourney Weaver (Aliens) and Ben Kingsley (Iron Man 3).

A new trailer has gone online for husband and wife producers Jennifer Blanc and Michael Biehn’s Hidden in the Woods, a remake of Chilean filmmaker Patricio Vallardes’ incest-fueled, rape-happy survival thriller En Las Afueras de La Ciudad.

Directed by Vallardes, the film stars Electra Avellan and Jeannine Kaspar as sisters repeatedly raped and tormented by their hooligan father until the day he’s sent to the pokey. The girls barely have time to pull up their knickers when their drug lord uncle shows up to collect the money their father owes him.

Peep it:

“True Blood” star Deborah Ann Woll is set to star in Marvel’s new “Daredevil” series for Netflix. She joins a cast that includes Charlie Cox (”Boardwalk Empire”) as blind attorney Matt Murdock turned superhero Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as nemesis Kingpin, and Rosario Dawson as a busty do-gooder.

The 13-episode series finds Woll playing Karen Page, Murdock’s on-again, off-again girlfriend, introduced in the comic’s very first issue. We’re thrilled with Woll’s casting and relieved Marvel didn’t go PC and cast a fattie or dude (hello, DC) as Daredevil’s main squeeze (afterall, it’s not like a blind guy needs a hot girlfriend).

Woll is coming off the seventh and final season of the HBO vampire soap “True Blood.” Her role as sexy, impetuous teen-vamp Jessica Hamby earned her a spot on Clatto’s list of The 11 Sexiest Maneater Babes in Horror.

New Line and Warner Bros. have released a two-minute plus trailer for Annabelle, its spinoff to James Wan’s blockbuster ghost story The Conjuring. The Annabelle doll was introduced in the film as one of the haunted artifacts collected by married demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren.

Written by Gary Dauberman (Crawlspace), Annabelle serves as the creepy doll’s origins story. Stunner  Annabelle Wallis (“The Tudors”) toplines the film. Costars include Ward Horton (“One Life to Live”). Michelle Romano (The Witching Hours) and Alfre Woodard (“True Blood”). It’s in theaters Oct. 3.

Inception Media Group has set an Aug. 12 DVD release date for Till Hastreiter’s The Forbidden Girl, a supernatural thriller about the seduction of a fundamentalist pastor’s son by a powerful and sexy witch. If he gives in to her witchy ways, he’ll be forced to live eternity on “the dark side”… so they’ll get married then?

The Forbidden Girl is toplined by Peter Gadiot (“Once Upon a Time in Wonderland”) and German starlet Jytte-Merle Böhrnsen (3 Türken und 1 Baby). A two-minute trailer for the long gestating film was released in May, and it looks a little something like this:

RADiUS-TWC has released the first trailer for Alexandre Aja’s (Piranha 3D) adaptation of author Joe Hill’s Horns. Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) toplines as Ignatius Perrish, a man who grows horns out of his head and uses their mysterious powers to avenge the rape and murder of his girlfriend.

Horns costars Joe Anderson (“The River”), Max Minghella (Darkest Hour), Kelli Garner (“Pan Am”), and Juno Temple (Killer Joe) as Perrish’s violated, dead paramour. Hill, son of horror author Stephen King, serves as executive producer. The film arrives on Halloween.

Lowly dogs, prepare to bow your heads. Mexican pop star and actress Eiza González (“Amores Verdaderos”) is reprising her role as Santánico Pandemonium in season two of El Rey’s “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series,” a small screen adaptation of Robert Rodriguez’s classic 1996 frightener.

If you watched the show’s first season, you know González defied all odds, impressively filling Salma Hayek’s stripper heels as the Titty Twister’s gorgeous vampire-queen.

In addition to González, “From Dusk Till Dawn” sees the return of original stars D.J. Cotrona (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) and Zane Holtz (Vampires Suck) as fugitive brothers Seth and Richie Gecko, and Wilmer Valderrama (“That ’70s Show”) as serpent villain Carlos Madrigal.

The new 13-episode season shoots in October.

Season two of the FX crime series “The Bridge” premiered this week with a glorious nude scene by star Diane Kruger. The German stunner plays a U.S. detective with Asperger’s who teams up with a Mexican detective (Demian Bichir) to track down a serial killer terrorizing the border of El Paso and Juarez.

But, it’s not all mutilated bodies. The duo also face off against ruthless, seriously frightening, drug cartels, sex traffickers, and corrupt police and politicos. Needless to say, it’s stressful work. The kind of thing that could make a sexy cop bang her sister’s killer’s brother (you really need to watch this show).

Which brings us back to Kruger’s bottomless scene. You’re welcome. “The Bridge” airs on Wednesday at 10p.m. Watch it!
