Jaimie Alexander (Thor) is set to star in Broken Vows, a psychological thriller about an evil woman who misleads a suitor into believing he’s got a shot with her, but instead smashes his heart and soul into tiny pieces, triggering an outburst of psychotic, but understandable, rage.
Or… maybe, he was just a maladjusted creep.
Belgian commercial director Bram Coppens makes his feature debut with the film, scripted by Jim Agnew (Rage) and Sean Keller (Kraken: Tentacles of the Deep). Wes Bentley and his bushy eyebrows play the deranged romeo.
Alexander is best known for playing Asgardian warrior Goddess Sif in Marvel’s Thor franchise, but horror fans first fell for brunette stunner in the 2006 slasher Rest Stop. She also starred in the lesser known frighteners The Other Side and Hallowed Ground.
Universal Pictures has released a trailer for Dracula Untold, an origins story about the transformation of Prince Vlad “The Impaler” into the vicious vampire. Luke Evans toplines the film for new director Gary Shore and Gods of Egypt scribes Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.

IFC Midnight has released a trailer for Pact writer and director Nicholas McCarthy’s creepy new supernatural thriller At the Devil’s Door. Previously titled Home, the film stars Colombian actress Catalina Sandino Moreno (Twilight: Eclipse) as a motivated real estate agent out to sell a haunted house.
All’s well until she runs into the homeowner’s daughter (Ashley Rickards) and gets sucked into a terrifying ordeal. “Glee’s” Naya Rivera (pictured above) co-stars. At the Devil’s Door comes a-knocking on VOD Aug. 8 and in selected theaters Sept. 12.
There are no flying sharks or cows, but New Line Cinema’s Into the Storm looks pretty damn promising as a disaster flick. Sure some of the graduating coeds in the new trailer could have lost their robes and underthings to the winds, but this is only director Steven Quale’s second feature film. Cut him some slack!
Written by John Swetnam (Evidence), Into the Storm stars “The Walking Dead’s” Sarah Wayne Callies (Rick Grimes’ annoying and adulteress wife, Lori) as a meteorologist teamed up with a storm chaser during a series of violent twisters in an Oklahoma town.
One look at the new trailer for Blumhouse Productions’ The Purge: Anarchy and it’s clear we’re in for a far more intense ride than the original. The story’s scope is bigger and the action appears to deliver the kind of white-knuckle thrills that not only disturb, but make you genuinely ask “what if that was me?”
To find out what if it was you, make sure to catch The Purge: Breakout attraction currently touring the nation.
The Purge is a government sanctioned 12-hour night during which all criminal activity is permissible by law, including murder, rape, and more murder. Once again written and directed by James Demonaco, the film stars Frank Grillo (The Grey), Carmen Ejogo (Alex Cross), Michael K. Williams (”Boardwalk Empire”), and Kiele Sanchez (”LOST”).
Paramount Pictures has released a new two-minute plus trailer for producer Michael Bay and director Jonathan Liebesman’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a live-action adaptation of the popular comic first published in 1984 by Mirage Studios.

Image Entertainment has set an Aug. 19 DVD release date for writer Jake Helgren’s (Bloody Homecoming) feature film debut Varsity Blood. Set during Halloween, the college based slasher stars a bevy of babes: Lexi Giovagnoli, Debbie Rochon, Natalie Peyton, Blair Jackson, Elyse Bigler, Melody Herron, and Kiarra Hogan.
Varsity Blood follows a group of small town jocks and cheerleaders as they’re hunted down by an axe-wielding Indian mascot during a drunken getaway to a remote farmhouse. No word if the Oneida Indian Nation approves of this, but the poster and trailer are enough to make us say, “How… can I get a copy?”
Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda is set to premiere on Syfy Aug. 2… it stars television commercial actress Katie Savoy, best known for a 2011 Verizon spot in which she’s transformed to Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson. Can you hear me now?
That’s right. The 5-foot-10 stunner can be seen caught in the mayhem that arises when a mad scientist (Robert Carradine) creates a half-pterodactyl, half-barracuda monster called Pteracuda, only to have it escape and start shit with the deadly Sharktopus.
In addition to numerous TV commercials, Savoy is known for roles in the daytime soap “The Bold and the Beautiful” and the pseudo reality show “Living with Models.” Her genre creds include the TV movie Palace of Damned and the sci-fi gamer thriller Virtually Heroes.
Syfy reports today more than two-million viewers tuned in last night to watch the premiere of its new day-of-reckoning series “Dominion.” Ratings can only double now that all those eyes have caught a glimpse of gorgeous South African starlet Kim Engelbrecht’s naked ass.
Engelbrecht plays Sgt. Noma Walker on the show, which is based on Screen Gems’ 2010 apocalyptic thriller Legion. The “Dominion” series picks up 25-years after the battle between man and angels began, and when female soldiers now stand side-by-side in showers with men.
Genre fans will recognize Engelbrecht from her role as one of the drop-dead gorgeous navigators in the 2013 Universal Home Entertainment original Death Race 3: Inferno, costarring fellow South African beauty Tanit Phoenix.
