Lucy Griffith (“True Blood”) is the female lead in NBC and Warner Bros. TV’s upcoming adaptation of DC Comics’ Constantine. She will star alongside Matt Ryan (“Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior”), who plays the titular antihero—an ex-conman turned supernatural detective out to save humanity from demonic forces.

Griffith will play the daughter of Constantine’s dead friend who helps him fight evil after he rescues her from demons. Also along for the ride is Harold Perrineau (“LOST”) as Constantine’s guardian angel Manny. Neil Marshall (The Descent) is attached to direct the premiere episode.

Griffith is best known for playing Eric Northman’s vampire sister Nora on season five of HBO’s “True Blood,” and for her role as doomed Lady Marion of Leaford on the BBC program “Robin Hood.” She also starred on The CW’s short-lived tween zombie drama “The Awakening.”

Paramount Pictures has released a two-minute plus trailer for Michael Bay’s Transformers 4: Age of Extinction. Mark Wahlberg and “Bates Motel” stunner Nicola Peltz take the lead in the new entry, which also introduces the Dinobots.

Wahlberg plays a mechanic who discovers the truck he’s working on is a damaged Transformer. Peltz plays his insanely attractive daughter. Together they discover something that leads to lots of robot fights and shit getting blown up. The action looks cool, but things get cheesy the minute the Transformers talk.

After thrilling genre fans as Silk Spectre in Zack Snyder’s Watchmen adaptation, Malin Akerman abandoned sci-fi and horror to star  in a string of romantic comedies and ABC’s “Trophy Wife.” But, now, she’s back! Sort of.

Akerman is set to star alongside Taissa Farmiga (“American Horror Story”) in Groundswell Productions’ upcoming horror-comedy The Final Girls. The story centers on the daughter of a recently deceased 80’s scream queen who gets trapped in her mom’s most famous film and must help her fight its killer.

The Final Girls is directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) and is slated to go into production in Louisiana in April. Sony Pictures acquired the worldwide rights to the film and will distribute.

If you think you know what to expect when you’re expecting, director Bryan Coyne and actress/producer/horror babe Jessica Cameron have got news for you: that ain’t a bundle of joy in your belly; it’s a monster… and not the the kind that grows up to hate you because you didn’t buy them the right pair of kicks, but the fang-y, eat-you-alive kind.

Utero stars Cameron as an agoraphobic single mom who believes her unborn child is “more monster than human.” Posted below is the film’s poster, and it is gross and terrifying and… makes me hope they show how it was conceived. I’m guessing a drunken night in Tijuana.

Syfy has acquired the first two seasons of the French sci-fi anthology series “Metal Hurlant Chronicles.” Directed by Guillaume Lubrano, each season is made up of 12 thirty-minute shows, and features a variety of guest stars, including Rutger Hauer, Michael Jai White, and the gorgeous Kelly Brook (pictured).

According to Variety, Syfy will premiere the first season of the show in April.

“Metal Hurlant Chronicles” is a live action adaptation of the 1974 French comic book series of the same name, adapted as “Heavy Metal Magazine” in the U.S. in 1977, and produced in 1981 as the animated feature Heavy Metal.

Genre queen Radha Mitchell is set to star alongside Kevin Bacon in Blumhouse Productions’ new supernatural thriller 6 Miranda Drive. The film reunites Mitchell with Rogue director Greg Mclean, best known to horror fans for helming the brutal Aussie slasher Wolf Creek.

According to THR, 6 Miranda Drive follows a family tormented by a “fear-feeding” force they inadvertently picked up while vacationing at the Grand Canyon. The film is written by Mclean and Bait writers Shane Krause and Shayne Armstrong. It shoots in Los Angeles in March.

Mitchell is coming off the serial killer dramas Frozen Ground and Evidence. She also starred in the Silent Hill franchise, the sci-fi actioners Pitch Black and Surrogates, and 2010’s remake of George Romero’s classic viral outbreak thriller The Crazies. She will next be seen in Peter A. Dowling’s Sacrifice.

Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have released a new trailer for Monsters director Gareth Edwards’ eagerly anticipated reboot of Godzilla. The clip features impressive destruction, a glimpse at how things first went wrong, and an angry and frightened Bryan Cranston explaining the world of shit heading our way.

In theaters May 16, Godzilla costars Elizabeth Olsen (Oldboy), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass), Juliette Binoche (English Patient) and, representing Tokyo, Ken Watanabe (Inception). The film is written by Max Borenstein (Seventh Son) and Dave Callaham (The Expendables 3).

Production has begun on stage director Thomas Daley’s feature film debut Tiger House, a home invasion thriller starring “Skins” actress Kaya Scodelario (pictured). The film is written by new scribe Simon Lewis, and costars Ed Skrein (“Game of Thrones”) and Dougray Scott (“Hemlock Grove”).

Tiger House follows an injured high school gymnast named Kelly (Scodelario) as she attempts to save the lives of her boyfriend and his family when armed thugs break into their home and take them captive. Posted above is the newest image released of the film.

Scodelario is best known for playing socially awkward high school student Effy Stonem on the British teen series “Skins.” Her genre creds include Duncan Jones’ Moon and Legendary’s Clash of the Titans. She’ll play the female lead in Wes Ball’s upcoming adaptation of the young adult novel “The Maze Runner.”

Bryan Cranston really is the danger. The “Breaking Bad” star will play a suspected serial killer in documentary filmmaker Errol Morris’ (The Thin Blue Line) feature film debut Holland, Michigan. Cranston joins Naomi Watts (The Ring) and Edgar Ramirez (Wrath of the Titans) in the Andrew Sodroski penned thriller.

Holland, Michigan follows a married woman (Watts) who starts an affair with a mysterious man (Ramirez) after suspecting that her husband (Cranston) is cheating on her. But, as it turns out, her hubby is not sleeping around with other women… he’s too busy killing them!

Cranston is coming off playing iconic chemistry teacher turned meth drug lord Walter White on AMC’s Emmy award-winning series “Breaking Bad.” Notable genre creds include 2012’s Total Recall remake, Disney’s John Carter, and Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion. He’ll next be seen in Warner Bros. Godzilla reboot.

Epic Pictures Group, distributor of the upcoming cinematic gift Zombeavers, has released a trailer for director Milan Todorovic’s Nymph, a very sexy creature-feature about a beautiful and deadly mermaid hidden beneath an abandoned military fortress in the Mediterranean.

Kristina Klebe (Halloween) and Natalie Burn (Expendables 3) play gorgeous scantily-clad girlfriends who encounter the deadly siren in her lair while vacationing. Nymph looks genuinely creepy and frightening, and as titillating as those Private Gold euro-porn features hidden on your drive.
