Warner Bros. has released a trailer for its Roar Uthaug-directed Tomb Raider reboot, starring Alicia Vikander as iconic video game treasure hunter Lara Croft. Judging by the footage, the new film succeeds in stripping Croft from any overt feminine sexuality – as it is now offensive to portray heroines as voluptuous.

At a time when young girls are actually dressing more provocatively than ever, pants on Croft makes about as much sense as they do on the Kool Aid man and puts forth a confusing message – are we only to respect female heroes if they dress conservatively?

We know pompous ass-hat James Cameron thinks so. He lost his shit over Wonder Woman’s sexy costume, suggesting she was too hotly attired to be taken seriously. Meanwhile, the penis-apologists at The Hollywood Reporter wrote how relieved they were to see Croft’s body wasn’t made grotesque with the presence of large breasts.

Yes, breasts and curves, how gross and anti-heroic. Only strippers, prostitutes, Hooters waitresses – you know, women of ill repute – have curves and breasts! Fuck that. Croft was created as a bodacious character and her figure never made a difference in her ass-kicking and puzzle-solving capabilities – that was solely based on the game player’s skills.

That said… the flick looks good!

A trailer has gone online for Dead Ant, a horror-comedy about an aging hair-metal outfit and it’s entourage on the road to a music festival in the hopes of putting on the comeback performance of a lifetime. All goes awry when they do peyote with a mysterious native American during a stop at Joshua Tree.

The stranger warns them not to hurt a single living thing while tripping, but they do and must survive the giants ants unleashed by an ancient curse.

Dead Ant is directed by Ron Carlson (Life Blood) and stars Tom Arnold (True Lies), Jake Busey (“From Dusk Till Dawn”), Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings), Leosha Hailey (“L-Word”), and stunner Cameron Richardson (pictured above).

Dead Ant makes its world premiere at this year’s Screamfest, running Oct. 10 – 19 at the TCL Chinese 6 Theater in Hollywood, CA. Get tickets and info at the Screamfest website.

Francesca Eastwood, daughter of movie icon Clint Eastwood, is out for some Dirty Harry type justice in M.F.A., a revenge drama starring Eastwood as a college rape victim turned vigilante when she inadvertently kills her assailant during a confrontation and uncovers the rampant rape culture on her campus.

Dark Sky Films releases M.F.A. on Oct. 13. Early reviews reveal the film is a bit on the chatty side, but Eastwood does flash some boob (thanks, Mr. Skin) so you can still get some enjoyment from the flick while appearing sensitive at the theater – just keep your pants zipped!

Eastwood’s genre creds include playing mutant Molly Walker on NBC event series “Heroes Reborn” and co-starring in photographer and then boyfriend Tyler Shield’s revenge thriller Final Girl. She is best know for burning a $100K Birkin bag in a photo shoot for Shields.

Screen Media Films has released a full-length trailer for Jeepers Creepers 3, the long gestating sequel in the popular horror franchise from writer/director and convicted child molester Victor Salva. Set during The Creeper’s final day of feeding, the film finds police task forces attempting to figure out the monster’s origins to kill it.

Original final girl Gina Philips reprises her role as Trish and Jonathan Breck returns as The Creeper. But, it’s model and actress Gabrielle Haugh who will make you turn a blind eye to Salva’s despicable behavior and watch Jeepers Creepers 3, assuming you can find a theater playing it.

Jeepers Creepers 3 was meant to be Haugh’s first major release up until that pesky child molesting thing impeded the film’s theatrical run, forcing Regal theaters to screen the film for one night only on Sept. 26. Rumor has it Haugh lost her recent gig on NBC’s “Days of Our Lives” over an Instagram post announcing her involvement in the sequel.

Haugh made her acting debut in Lifetime’s lesbian vampire dramedy “Mother, May I Sleep with Danger.” She has since starred in the indie frighteners The Midnight Man and The Institute and co-starred on Netflix’s teen suicide soap “13 Reasons Why.”

Earlier this year, Sony Pictures announced it was looking to replace Rooney Mara in the role of emotionally disturbed hacker Lisbeth Salander in The Girl in the Spider’s Web, a new volume in late Swedish author Stieg Larsson’s Millennium series – made popular by its first novel, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.”

Naturally, we assumed Megan Fox was a shoo-in. How else to keep the franchise alive after the initial’s release was met with a tepid response at the box office without the casting of a hot chick? The announcement reportedly drew interest for the role from stunners Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, and Alicia Vikander – all excellent choices.

Sadly, the studio found an actress with less sex appeal than Mara: Claire Foy (“The Crown’s”). Has this Foy person even done a nude scene or semi-nude photo shoot? Was Fox really not available? I mean, c’mon, first screwed out of Wonder Woman role and now this!

Fede Alvarez, director of exceptional fright flicks Don’t Breathe and 2013’s Evil Dead remake, is at the helm of the sequel.

“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” is the first book in what is collectively known as the Millennium Trilogy, novels by late Swedish author Stieg Larsson. They have sold more than 40 million copies worldwide. Larrson, a journalist and political activist, died of a heart attack at the age 50 in 2004. According to his longtime live-in girlfriend Eva Gabrielsson, he left behind pages to his unfinished fourth book in the series.

“The Girl in the Spider’s Web” is not based on those pages, but instead written by David Lagercrantz with the Larsson’s estate’s support. Gabrielsson calls Lagercrantz an “idiotic choice” for carrying on the book series.

The Girl in the Spider’s Web is slated for release Oct. 5, 2018.

Marilyn Manson has released a video for “We Know Where You Fucking Live,” the first single from his upcoming 10th album Heaven Upside Down,” available Oct. 6. The video follows Manson and a group of gun-wielding nuns as they torment and abuse a suburban family during a home invasion.

As a diehard Manson fan, the shenanigans seem just a little too obvious and uninspired at this point. But, as a Catholic school survivor, hot and fetishized nuns looking to rub their holiest of holies on dudes’ faces is absolutely brilliant and stroke-worthy.

Jamie Lee Curtis is set to reprise her iconic role as Laurie Strode in a new and reportedly final Halloween sequel from horror hit machine Blumhouse and Universal Pictures. David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express) directs and co-writes with longtime collaborator and actor Danny McBride (“Eastbound & Down”).

With Blumhouse in the driver’s seat and Halloween creator John Carpenter on board as executive producer, the new Curtis-starring film could be the best out of all the sequels and reboots in the franchise since Halloween IV! At the very least, we’ll get some quality dick jokes from Green and McBride.

The new Halloween is slated to release Oct. 19, 2018.

Netflix has set an Oct. 13 premiere date for The Babysitter, a horror-comedy from producer and director McG (Terminator: Salvation) for New Line Cinema, starring Bella Thorne and Aussie model-turned-actress Samara Weaving (Hugo Weaving’s daughter).

The Babysitter follows a 12-year-old boy (Judah Lewis) and his ridiculously hot nanny (Weaving) on a night when dreadful things occur. If that’s not enough to pique your interest, Thorne and Weaving share a sultry lesbian scene in the film as well.

Thorne told ET Canada:

It’s super controversial, it will be a lot to deal with. There’s this really slow-mo girl on girl scene, with me and the main character.

Fox Searchlight has released a trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s critically acclaimed creature-feature, The Shape of Water. Sally Hawkins (Godzilla) plays a lonely deaf woman working as a janitor in a government lab who falls for a merman being used in top secret experiments during the Cold War, circa 1962 America.

Judging by the trailer, there won’t be many endearingly awkward lobster dinners between the pair being that researchers have their own plans for the creature. The Shape of Water is written by del Toro and Vanessa Taylor (Divergent). It arrives in theaters Dec. 8

Well Go USA has released a trailer for Better Watch Out, a home invasion thriller from Chris Peckover, writer/director of 2010’s timely and frightening immigration thriller Undocumented. Aussie stunner Olivia DeJonge stars as a babysitter tormented during the Christmas holiday by trespassers unlike any others.

Better Watch Out co-stars Levi Miller (Pan) as DeJonge’s charge, Virginia Madsen (The Haunting in Connecticut) and Patrick Warburton (”Seinfeld”) as his parents, and Ed Oxenbould, DeJonge’s co-star in M. Night Shyamalan’s comeback sleeper, The Visit.

Better Watch Out arrives in theaters and VOD Oct. 6.
